    Over pressure with factory ammo

Have used Nosler and Federal brass. Fed., Win., and CCI primers. Tried 120 Ballistic Tips, 120 A max, and 142 SMKs. My loads and Fed Prem factory loads, same result. I got this rifle from a guy who bought it new but never shot it. I have the box and know the owner of store and employee who...

    Over pressure with factory ammo

Yes. I always give a gun the once over before shooting. Just shot it again with hand loads 2-1/2 gr. below Sierra's listed max. Same thing. Sticky bolt and shinny moon mark from ejector on bottom of case. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Over pressure with factory ammo

I just picked up a Rem 700 CDL stainless/ fluted Ltd. in 260 Rem. (man. 2008). I bore sighted the scope and used Fed Prem 120 gr Ballistic Tip factory ammo to get a 100 yd zero. I got sticky bolt lift and shinny ejector moons on the bottom of the cases. This same ammo shows no pressure...

    Range day: Hot but successful

Pic of 2 of the 3 rifle I shot above groups with, (L to R), Browning X Bolt .308 Win. and Tikka T3 Forest in .260 Rem. A few buddies they share the safe with: (Tikka .308 Win sports the fluted barrel). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Range day: Hot but successful

Yes, X Bolt is a great rifle. It's probably had 80-100 rounds through it now and just keeps shooting tighter groups. I've got the trigger as light as it goes ( 3#) but it feels much heavier than my Tikkas (2#). Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

    Range day: Hot but successful

I shot three rifles today at my home range: (1) Brand new first time to shoot Tikka T3 Forest .260 Rem. (2) Tikka T3 s/s fluted/camo .308 Win. and (3) Browning X Bolt Stainless Hunter .308 Win. The .260 Rem shot well after about 15 rounds with cleaning after every 3 shot group. Careful...

    The little 308 amazed me

My brother is a serious long range shooter of targets and big game and he uses .308 Win. chambered guns primarily. He prefers a 20" heavy barrel (tactical style). He's even had some barrels shortened to 18.5". I have asked him why he prefers the short barrels instead of the longer ones that...
