    When do you trim?

I have not tried lubing the case necks... The cases were clean as they had just come out of the tumbler and I clean them after that with a bore brush to get the media dust out.. I understand tight fit, but if the pilot is 3 to 4 thousandths bigger it won't fit. Its all good and I am all caught...

    When do you trim?

Well I did some measuring and am still stumped. I measured the inside of the case necks and came up with .272 from the Lee full length die and .273 from the RCBS neck sizer die. The pilot marked with a "27" on my trim pro measures .275. I guess that explains why I can't use the 27 pilot on my...

    Favourite Rifles, Cartridges

WOW, tough question. Currently my fav is my Ruger M77 MKII in 257 Roberts. Next would be my Marlin 444 SS. I do have a sporterized 1891 Argentine mauser in 7.65x53 that holds a special place in my heart. It shoots very well, and looks very nice too. Take care Ed

    When do you trim?

I would like to trim my brass after I full length resize so I have a consistent length to start loading with. Only problem is that my trim pilot on my RCBS trim pro is to big and I have to use the next size smaller. Is this common or am I doing it backwards? BTW I am trimming Winchester 270 Win...

    25 cal LR Accubond

I too would like to see a LR style bullet for the 25's, being a 257 Bob shooter myself. My guess is that Nosler will focus most of their R&D dollars on 26, 28, and 30.. Hmmmm, maybe because they like to sell $1700 rifles. Just my thoughts. Take care Ed

Scouting out a place to go long

WOW.. beautiful country for sure. Out here in Utah there are a lot of places to shoot long range, but just as Guy said, you have to be careful someone doesn't show up in your shooting lane.. I am a few years out from retirement, but my wife and I already know that wherever we land we will have...

    Scope rings for Ruger #1

Unfortunatly the Ruger #1 I picked up for my wife's Christmas did not come the factory scope rings. I checked the Ruger website and they are very proud of their rings. Was just wondering about other options? Does anyone else supply scope rings that fit these rifles? Thanks Ed

    If you had your choice...

I have owned a Triple 4 for 15 years and have killed several Mule Deer, 1 Elk and a few Whitetail. It hits game like a hammer, which is why mine has the nickname of Thor. The 265gr FP from Hornady are very good bullets and shoot 1 MOA form my Marlin. The early ones with the 1-38 twist may...

    Reblueing and glass bedding

Thanks for all the tips and ideas so far.. I have looked at the Birchwood Casey Perma Blue kit and from what I gather the prep is the most important part of the process. I am not sure if that requires a total breakdown of the action and parts as I do not have the tools to do that. I was hoping...

    Reblueing and glass bedding

I have a very nice sporterized Model 91 mauser in 7.65. It amazes me at the way it shoots 150 gr Hornady interlocks... It is really in need of some reblueing and was looking for some recommendations for this as a DIY project.. I would like it to end up with a nice dark finish.. Also would love...
