Thanks

I would weigh the Brass and see if there is a big difference in the weight of the 3 that you referred to. Could be that faster one has a lot less capacity than the other 2.. That could be one explanation. I have found that since I started weighing each powder charge on a balance scale I have...

Just wondering which one would have the best barrel life.. I have heard the after 5-600 rds the Weatherby will need to be set back..
No one mentioned the 6.5PRC.. Looks interesting..
I have always wanted a 6.5x55 in a modern action loaded to modern pressures with todays new powders.. I guess I...
You might take a look at RL16. Very close to H4350.. I am currently working up a load for my son's 06 and it shows good speed and working on seating depth to fine tune. BTW load I am working on is Hornady 178 ELDX.

If you can't find RL26 I would look at Norma MRP. I use it in my 257 Bob with stellar results. 2yrs ago I was looking for RL26 an I couldn't find any, found a 8lber of MRP on clearance at Sportsmans Whse and have been very happy with it. works awesome in my 270 Win also

Lets see... 7.65 x53, introduced in 1889
257 Roberts.. 1927
270 Win.... 1925
444 Marlin... 1964??? Someone correct me if I am wrong.. I in no way feel outdated or undergunned when I go afield. Come to think of it 1964 was the year my awesome...
It makes me wonder if you have your seating die set to far down. I have done that before and it will push the shoulder back and cause a bulge. I am with the good Dr as I have never seen compressed loads damage a case in any way, and I have loaded some that had to have a drop tube and be tamped...
Will be applying for 2nd season cow tag for Unit 67. Hope to draw, if not will just hunt OTC bull in 551.. Applying for point in the Mule deer.

If you go to the Colorado Parks and Wildlife website and look at the draw statistics that will give you a lot of info on where and what season to apply for. Generally more tags are issued for the 3rd season, and with the fact that most units have less applicants for 3rd the odds are better. If...
RL16 has worked well in every cartridge that I have tried it in. 7.65 Mauser, 3006, and 257 Bob. Velocity is consistent and accuracy very good. Looks like it doesn't mind the 6.5 Creed either.

BTW great shooting..
I know this is a Nosler forum and I use Nosler bullets in a lot of the rifles I shoot, but I worked up a Honady 145gr ELDX load that shoot sub MOA. I have been to the range with it 3 times and have been able to repeat my results each time, so I think its a keeper. Rifle is a Weathery Vanguard...
My wife has a Ruger #1 B in 257 Bob and with the 115gr BT's 3180 average and .5 MOA at 100 yds using Norma MRP.. She is going to start stretching it out and shooting milk jugs out to 600 yds.. I have one in a Ruger M77 MKII with a 22" pipe, that same load was 3050 and about the same accuracy. I...
I have used Reloader 16 in a couple of the cartridges that I have and have been very pleased with the consistency and velocity/pressure. I was almost out and have been looking for an 8lber, but settled on 8,1lbers from Cabelas. A little more cost, but I won't be out of it for a while.
