    Predator rifle suggestion

I'm not sure a better dedicated yote gun exists than the 243Win. It'll buck the wind better than a .223cal, report and recoil are easy on the shooter, and it's a dandy deer rifle with the right bullets, too.

Tough season, but GMX'd one to death

Very nice. A 243Win was my dad's only deer rifle for about 30yrs. Neither he nor all the deer we ate ever thought that rifle was too little for deer. Congratulations on joining the club! Enjoy the new deer slayer, and the venison steaks.

    Little Brother's 257 Weatherby

This is a late entry but has all the makings of "Quote of the Year."

    Little Brother's 257 Weatherby

Nice grab on the Vanguard, Scotty! You know I am partial to the hive. I suspect you've nearly ruined those boys for anything but another 'bee when the time comes to add a rifle. Once they get very good with the 257, let me know and we'll go on a hunt for a nice 300 for them. (Of course, you...

    New WT rifle ?

If you're shooting small-ish deer (130lbs) and you're shooting close ranges (under 150yds) you have, as has been mentioned, a ton of options. I'll suggest you're on the right track with a 243Win of some sort. Why? Because aside from the 30-06 and 270Win, you won't find any other ammo in more...

    Setting up Burris Signature rings?

My experience on two rifles is awfully close, but not exactly dead-on. Mine is so close, in fact, that I've started using .001" per MOA as a guideline if shimming. But the good Doctor is correct, it is not exact depending on ring spacing.

    Remingtons quality

I'd be careful about thinking that. When I asked Remington what was "acceptable accuracy" they hemmed and hawed and kept saying the 700 is one of the most accurate rifle platforms in production today. I finally asked a few pointed questions, regarding if they thought 3+ inches at 100yds was...

    Remingtons quality

I like my Remingtons. I really do. But I'll add that the ones I own are from 2003 and earlier. There was a period in the latter part of the first decade of this century where quality went away from Rem in some ways. Seems like you'd either get a really good one, or a really bad one. I got a...

    Bore tech eliminator

I use BTE for all my cleaning chores now. I've tried over 20 other solvents and cleaners and this is the best I've used. My method is simple: 1. 3 soaked patches 2. Wait 8-10min 3. 1 soaked patch 4. Wait 8-10min 5. Repeat steps 3 & 4 until the soaked patch comes out clean (no black...
