What powder? If ball 215 or 9 1/2M also for compressed loads. I have used WLR primers in a 270 from -5 to 80 IMR powders and R-26.

Let's buy the perfect out west gun.

Since he has an all around rifle already he might look a specialty round. 257 Weatherby on the smaller end or 340 Weatherby on the upper end. I would vote for the 257 Bee as it could be used for anything out west.

    25 Cal?

From Nosler Designed to provide a shorter COAL in cartridges such as the 257 Roberts, these have a shorter ogive curve and a slightly more rounded profile than the standard Nosler 25 Cal 115gr partition.

    6.5-06 issues

How is the brass. Was it neck turned, weight sorted or any other treatment? Also have you checked the concentricity of the loaded ammo? I would also do a deep clean of the barrel, I use a foaming bore cleaner.

    Tikka build

And yet you can buy Tikka's in 300 WSM and 270 WSM. This leads me to think the 7mm WSM will feed just fine.

    New lot of brass?

What is the goal. 3100 fps is Noslers max speed. I would give R-26 a go, if you have any, or R-23.

    Weatherby ultra lightweight 338/06

My 338-06 Likes 60 gr. 4451 with 225 partitions or sierras. These have the same poi so I practice with the sierra bullets. About 2650 fps.

    Bullet weight selection

168 E-Tip works very well on elk and 168 TTSX. If one of these shoot well in your rifle I would look no further.
