I have loaded for a 7 mag for 20 years and have had great results with IMR7828 and 150gr BTs.
With 160gr ABs IMR4831 and mag pro have done well and 140s of any make and R22 has worked great.
Note. This is the rifle my wife uses and she shot a truck load of deer with 140 Sierra pro hunters.
I had a Rem 7400 that shot very well, less than an inch, with IMR 4064 and 165gr Nosler bullets. Best accuracy was with 49 gr 4064, Rem cases, Fed 210 primers and 165 gr. BT. The Partition shot almost as well. I never had a jam or other problem but I kept the chamber and action very clean...

That load 35.5 is 6.5 gr below Hodgdon starting load.

I have had good luck with Tac and CFE223. Lots of good powders for the 308.
I have only shot one moose and that was with a 338 Win with a 225 TSX. I have shot deer with a 338-06 and 200 gr. Hornadys, not the sst. I would be totally comfortable using the Barnes 185 TTSX.
I have a very good shooting load with 200gr. Partition and Ramshot Magnum.
Rem. brass, Fed 215 primer and 94 gr. Magnum. 3100 fps and 1" to 1.5" groups at 200 yards.

I am new to the forum so a little late to the sharing but here is my experience. A friend and I booked in Manitoba in 2007 and drove up. We had a great trip and both were successful. Two moose filled the back of the truck on the drive home.
This is me with mine. :grin...
Drove through that area a month ago and had the thought, This sure looks like good elk country. Guess I was right. Wife and I liked the looks of the area. Hope you get your tags and are successful.
Thanks Dr.Mike
I have been reading the forum for several years and decided I better join. This forum has a great bunch of guys/gals that always are ready to help each other.
I have burned up a couple pounds in my 300 SAUM and 6 mm Remington. It works very well in those two 180's in the 300 at 2900+ fps and 3400 with 85 & 90's in the 6mm.
