Nosler load data shows the most accurate powder as h4831sc. I have regular h4831. Would you expect that I could get close to stuffing a max load of 60.5 grains (97% load density) into nosler cases without the sc version? I would certainly start lower and work up but don’t want to waste time...

I have had pretty good luck so far with my 1:8.5 twist Fierce 28 nosler and the 175 ablr. Easily 1/2” or better groups with the right jump.

That seems like a fair assumption to me too, but I was wondering if there were other considerations- perhaps the BC may be compromised with the slower twist, or if there were other constraints that could limit this combination. For instance, Nosler gives data for this bullet in the 280ai also...

I have been loading the Accubonds for this rifle but happened into a good deal on multiple boxes of nosler ammo with the 160 ballistic tip - less than I would pay for the brass alone. I’m sure this would work fine for deer and antelope. What are your thoughts about elk? I mean, Berger shows...

Great question. I guess it depends on the rifle I’m loading for. My Kimber 7-08 is a 4-500 yards gun at max, but I aspire to some longer max ranges (and thus greater precision) with the 28 nosler.

When starting to work on a new load, I’m curious whether most of you look for an optimal powder charge first, or try to find the best seating depth. Berger bullets recommends loading multiple rounds at the min powder charge and testing different seating depths before testing varying powder...
