Suppressors for hunting in WA and other questions

I’m interested in this as well. I know they’re spendy as well so how well do they work on a big game rifle? Say 30-06,270,7 mag class. I’m sure they aren’t silent and don’t expect that but, is it worth it? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Dang it!

You are correct. It was a grip issue. I was having problems with it when we transitioned to Glocks from Sigs. I had to go with the large beaver tail blackstrap so it wasn’t loose in my hands. Also brought my group back to center instead of left of center. I’ll sometimes have it happen when...

    Sight drifting tool.

Yep. That’s likely the same animal. I used one for my Glock when we were issued them a few years back. Funny thing, I never liked the Glock until I was forced to carry one. Then after a while it grew on me. It’s like a good hammer, not pretty by any means but you can’t beat it for hammering...

    Best 6.5 Creedmoor AR rifle

I’ve heard good things about Stocky’s before. I’ll check them out

Thanks guys,it’s good to be here. I have a local Yooper who makes pastries too. My wife! She’s a Finnlander from the Keweenaw that I imported down here. She makes a bunch of other good stuff that I can’t spell or pronounce.

    Thoughts on the PRC cartridges.

I looked up the 7mm Practical. Looks like a nice round. Kinda like the 7.21 Sage. I’d need more information on magazine lengths to make sure I got the right parts and pieces to make it function properly but nice looking rounds for sure. A lot of interesting posts on this thread and a lot to...

    Say a prayer.

Yep. Just use in a WELL VENTILATED area. That stuff will kill ya. We used brake parts cleaner regularly in the armory when I was in the military for the old M-60’s. Hosed down good with brake parts cleaner or carb cleaner with a follow up of WD-40.

    Thoughts on the PRC cartridges.

I’ve always liked the 260 Remington since it’s inception but, it’s been one of those “always wanted, never had” cartridges . And,of course, Remington did it no favors when they introduced it with a poor twist rate, short barrel and, anemic ammunition. Then along came the Creedmoor and I bought...

    Thoughts on the PRC cartridges.

I’m a huge fan of smart case design. I love the Creedmoor and truly appreciate the thought put into it. Completely understand that downrange numbers are basically the same as the 260 Remington but, the form and function of the Creedmoor kills the 260 Remington from COAL to twist. Flame away...

Just don’t force anything and you should be good. I might know someone/somewhere if you can’t get it figured out. But,you’ll be fine.

So, we’ll try this again. First time I think I was having internet issues. I’m newish here. Posted a few times and it took me a bit to find this thread. So, here goes. My name is Ed Brinkman, I live in Michigan and grew up in the northwestern extreme portion of the Upper Peninsula of the...

    Best 6.5 Creedmoor AR rifle

I might just build one. I can take one apart and put it back together in my sleep almost. Not big on installing barrels though. Never did it and not confident with the whole headspace thing. Triggers, bolt carrier, bolts, buffer spring, etc, etc. I’m good with. Like everything I’d like to have irons...

    Best 6.5 Creedmoor AR rifle

So, one more I’m doing research on. I’ve had a couple of AR 15 platform rifles before and I just can’t get terribly excited about them. I have carried a M4 before they were designated M4’s so I’m very familiar with the platform. I’m thinking that after I get the bolt guns I truly want in place...

    308 or 280 for a young lady

Like others I’d stick with a short action and likely go 6.5 Creedmoor,260 Rem,7-08. Anyone of those can be found in a reasonably priced rifle and good ammunition can be found easily. Depending on where you’re located any should do for most game. Some places have a minimum 7mm cal for some species.

    Speed vs Accuracy Rob Leatham

A year old but deserves a bump. Very good information and very true. Get your fundamentals down. Proper form, follow through etc and learn how shoot as accurately as you can. Then practice your speed and instinctive/point shooting. And move. Learn to move between shots so you’re not in the...

    Dang it!

Guy: just curious if that one you pulled was the last in the gun. I have done the same before with the last shot when the slide locks back.

    Concealed Carry

Thing is, the last person I’m worried about is someone who has a CCW/CPL. it’s the criminal who has it illegally and doesn’t have a permit to carry that’s going to be a problem. Not to mention someone who has a permit could be my back up. So, if you have a CCW, paid the money, and went through...

    Sight drifting tool.

That should work. Looks like brass ends so it shouldn’t jack up your sights. I’ve seen ones for pistols that look like a small clamp with a screw that pushes the sight. Not sure if you would be looking for something like that.

Favorite goofing off bullet for the 6.5 Creedmoor

I have a bunch of 143 ELDX’s loaded up for my Creedmoor and used it last year for hunting. I smoked a young eight point Whitetail last year here in Michigan that dressed out at just over 180#. The shot was just past scorching distance from the muzzeblast and he made a small half circle and fell...
