Anyone ever heard of a .358 Win Mag?

Very cool, only a tiny bit less case capacity than the 358 Norma Mag. Probably can use reloading data for it but maybe not the max charges listed.

It's actually CZ (through Colt Canada) that's helping the "Canadian Government" with their gun bans by disposing of guns. I'm not one that will support those companies anymore.

    308 Norma

You must go on some of the same websites I go to, have seen a few of them for sale recently. Even with the rear locking action getting a 180 gr bullet to 2950-3000 fps shouldn't be too hard and be easy on the gun. I've heard that those Shultz and Larsen guns were very well made rifles. Sounds...

    308 Norma

I used one for many years and still think it's the best of the belted magnums and compares well to many newer belt less rounds. I necked down 338 WM brass and it works fine with a bit shorter neck. That said Norma brass was awesome and would go that route. I used MRP with 200's and the Nosler...

Don't have any experience with the CVA but I always recommend Tikka or Browning for rifles that rarely have issues. Between those two you could probably just pick the one that has the features you like and fit well. Maybe someone local to you has a Tikka to see how they fit you.

    Lever action rifles

A while ago I saw a couple of used Savage 99 rifles in 308 that fit surprisingly well. The iron sights lined up perfectly when you shouldered the gun. Anyone have any advise on the Savage 99 and what to look for or are there any other used lever guns that I should be aware of? Something that I...

    Sako L61R mounts

This is what the Leupold looks like, I don't have a good picture of the other set up unfortunately.

    Sako L61R mounts

You can get either set up. I've used Leupold Rings that clamp down directly to the dovetail and I believe a Burris base that went onto the dovetail and then just regular rings on top of that.

Heron with Fresh Fish for Breakfast

It's amazing that they can swallow such a big fish like that. Would make some excellent video if you have that option with your camera.

And I don't even have the rifle yet!

Very nice, now you need to load up a bunch of dummy rounds and set them up all over the house............at least that's what I do haha.

    Lever rifle fun ......

Sounds like it was a lot of fun. The 375 Winchester is such an underrated round.

New rifle, new (to me) cartridge… 6.5x55

Between you @nhenry and @Blkram you guys sure have some nice lefty rifles! That's a beauty that you'll love. Easy cartridge to load for, powders in the various 4350's to the H 4831 sc are the best all around powders from what I have seen over the years.

257 Roberts and 120 gr Partition

Nothing wrong with a fast twist 257 Roberts, you'll be able to shoot any bullet you want all the way up to the new heavyweights starting to come out now.

    7 PRC To 375 Ruger

Same parent case so I can't see why not. With the heavier recoil you might need to make sure that the bedding is up to snuff and if it's a wood stock maybe some cross bolts to make sure it doesn't split. The Ruger Hawkeye I had in 375 Ruger did shift in the wood stock, that's how I found that...

    160 grain Partitions in a 6.8 Western

Let us know how it works out for you and I'll do the same. Definitely my favorite black bear bullet and bigger stuff in the 270 Win or 6.8 Western.

I forgot they switched over to the model 21. You are undoubtedly correct on them having leftover actions to use up.
