Another option is to get the rifle refinished...
I have had a few guns done up by ARS (http://www.arizonaresponsesystems.com/f ... nish.shtml) and the final action, even on an old surplus rifle parts, is slicker than snot.
I should have known better... This is like bringing a bottle of whiskey to an AA meeting...
Headed to the bank today to grab cash to pick it up tomorrow. Now to find someone who actually has dies and brass!
One of my local shops has a CZ in 375 H&H that has sat on the shelf for over a year. One of the counter guys says that they would probably be willing to deal on a cash buy.
It's got the straight comb stock and iron sights. Wood is nice.
I've always wanted a .375 H&H and CZ makes a nice...
They are a godsend. I love mine.
- Google "Chargemaster straw trick" - It really helps with non-ball powders.
- Isolate it if you can. I was getting a fair number of overweight charges before I moved my chargemaster off my bench that had the press I was using. The action of the press was...
That looks to me to be more 'evaluation' quantities than actually loading up something for deployment. Are they doing body armor or vehicle testing there?
A stop at Dillon last week has lead me to believe that they are catching up. They started taking orders again on some items that they previously wouldn't. (223 dies for example)
That's way too much adjustment wasted to get zeroed. I'd even be surprised if the mount could be that far off. After checking to see if it's the same on another rifle, I'd be sending that scope in for repair.
Yah.. well.. I like those too!
I think the only cartridge I've ever taken an instant dislike to is the .40 S&W. Otherwise, I think when asked, the answer is usually.. Yes.
Back to the original post...
I too am a huge fan of the .308 family of cases. I regularly shoot .243, 7mm08 and .308. But I've yet to jump in on the 338 Federal for one simple reason.. The 35 Whelen. The .308 is a fantastic base case because the rounds built off it are efficient, easy...
Finishing is mostly in the prep. Make sure the surface is prepared\properly cleaned and you can get good results from just about any of the products.
PS - Duracoat is just repackaged and marked up Sherwin Williams Polane. And while it's a pretty tough finish once cured you can't use it for...
One of the local walmarts had almost 80 boxes of 9mm federal $22/100 a few weekends ago. I bought 3, called some friends and they came over within an hour and it was already gone.
She would see no hypocrisy in this.
In the realm of the 'elite' left, they are the sole keepers of the wisdom to govern and manage people unable to manage themselves. Because they are the enlightened ones, they are due privilege and rights that, in their view, we are incapable of managing...
Just out of curiosity, have you tried going slower instead of faster? I've found a few combinations where the slow end of the range shot better than the high end. And while I've usually found a suitable powder/bullet combo without having to go too far afield, I'd highly recommend a few more...
I never complain about variety or having a healthy competition amongst the companies I buy products from. A good marketplace is good for the consumer.
I'm not sure I'd buy their hunting bullets, because with almost their entire hunting line, Nosler now makes a far superior product. That...
