As the title implies, I'd like to use up my stock of BLC2 powder with a huge batch of blem b-tips that should be showing up. Can anyone show me the quickload data?
Sort of odd. Just about every reloading guide shows great fps with BLC2, and nosler doesn't use it for any of their loads...
You know what my problem with Nosler and Lapua brass is?
I never want to use it. It's so perfect, shiny and awesome, I tend to just use my win/rem brass because it's 'disposable'. For some dumb reason, I always want to save it for something... like a big hunt, or a match, or something fun...
When we were looking at 3 car garaged homes awhile back, I'd just about talked my wife into letting me build/frame out the 3rd car garage with temporary stud walls as a shop. Smaller area that could easily be heated as needed with electric baseboards and a way to keep it all enclosed.
Dillon 650 here reloading exclusively 9mm
I have the typical 5 station setup:
resize/deprime
powder drop/flare
powder check
seat
crimp
With a 5 station press, there is little reason to combine seating and crimping, unless you are going for a bullet feeder. It also depends on what type of...
Not sure if it matters or not, but the President of Scheels is a hard core pro-2A type and a pretty damn nice guy to boot. If there was one closer to me, I'd be doing business with them
Just a few thoughts...
- Why limit yourself to one bullet for all applications? Enjoy, embrace and bask in the fact that we have a ton of options! Why have one bullet do 'ok' at everything when you can have fantastic performance just by using 2 or maybe even 3?
- The 69g SMK is a fantastic...
Just a heads up, looks like it's not just a run on components.
I was over at Dillon over the weekend, and there were three lines five deep at each register. The place has been picked over, with almost nothing left available for reloading equipment. Drove half way across the valley only to...
It's one of those cartridges that is in the 'when' not 'if' bucket.
When I finally shoot out my .243, it may well end up in 6.5. Great all around cartridge.
A few thoughts...
As others have said, the action alone is worth $400. I'd buy this one in a heartbeat, for that reason alone.
That said, while this may get me flamed for being a snob, I'd swap out that scope before ever carrying it in the field. Burris isn't a bad optic, but the big, hard...
Seems to me there may be some value in having a sticky thread going to share information when we find components becoming available.
- My find of the day? You can buy bullets everyone else is out stock directly off Sierra's website.
I've been able to substitute Fed and CCI with no issues or changes in load workup. (I did drop down a few grains and work my way back up, but the sweet spot for powder was the same on both.)
I've come to really dislike breaks. I don't need one in the field as I've never actually felt recoil when hunting. I don't like them at the bench because it's obnoxious as hell for anyone near me.
Unless I had my own spot out in the middle of nowhere, and was shooting with nobody around, I...
I love R19 in the .243. I've had fantastic groups with R19 and a S HPBT MKs. I've tried a few different powders and always go back to R19. With the heavy weight .243 bullets, it seems to be consistently my most accurate powder.
