I personally like a 20” barrel like my Tikka has.
It handles almost as well as my model 94.
It give it a carbine type feel especially when hunting in the thick stuff.
I am trying to find a load for the ttsx’s . My initial attempts were with Varget as that is what I use either the accubonds, but haven’t been successful there.
I’ve got some loads worked up using TAC but haven’t had the chance to get to the range lately. Soon I hope!
3248 is pretty quick!

I believe he’s just starting
He is an avid bow hunter who gave up his season to do this study.
The information is very interesting to say the least, but I just hope that this tech doesn’t become more of a problem than a solution….
The one absolute about deer hunting is that there is no absolutes.
I’ve had deer run from different calibers, and had to track many.
One deer ran over 200 yards after having its heart blown apart and his right front leg shattered from a .50 cal, 300 grain, in-line muzzleloader bullet.
I’ve had...
I’ve taken some pictures
Tried to get a good one of the reticle but not very successful. It has four BDC hash marks and it has a red dot.
As you can see it weighed 19.45 oz
I’ve spoken with the people at Skinner sights for my lever action and they are really good people to deal with.
I have been thinking about a 1-6 or so for some time, and I knew that Skinner put out a quality product, so I did a little research and everyone who has used them said that that were...
I received mine yesterday, I ordered it from The Big Woods Bucks guys for the same price as Andy Larson’s Skinner Sights site.
They had it for free shipping and no tax.
Here is the lowdown as of this time.
It comes very, very well packaged. Much better than my Leupold or Vortex scopes.
It looks...
This is such a great site!
I would like to thank you all for your experience and advice!
I came into this late at 54, and I’ve learned so much from being a member here!
The wealth of knowledge and the willingness to share your knowledge is something that is greatly appreciated!
Thank you all!
I’ve been playing with the Barnes 130 grain ttsx’s lately and trying to come up with a good load.
NY keeps trying to push through non-lead ammo on public/state lands so I’m trying to be prepared for that.
I currently have a good load for 150 grain Accubonds, but was wondering if 165s might be a...
We need to encourage everyone we can to contact our reps!
I’m from the northeast, but I certainly do not want this to become a thing
I pray that this does not go through
I’ve used 150 grain Accubonds in my 30-06 and 308.
Lately when I head out hunting (primarily whitetails) I’m grabbing my 308.
I do a lot of thick woods hunting with it, and it being a 38” rifle with a 20” barrel, it is nice and agile in those situations.
Now all the deer that I’ve shot with the...
