Man some of you have used a lot of Cartridges !
6mm Rem.
.264 Win Mag
.270 Win. Also the only Gun I have ever Sold.
30-30 Win.
300 H&H Mag
12ga
.54 Muzzleloader
Me personally I will not buy any shotgun that does not fit. I also don't believe in adjustable stocks as I can not tell you how many times I have seen them fail. I would sell it and find a shotgun that fits Auto Pump or SxS or O/U does not matter but a shotgun has to fit you to be successful...
I would not buy one today. I would look to .300 PRC or .300 Win Mag. You don't want to be like Me with a 300 H&H Mag as it keeps getting harder by to day to find brass and what you find is expensive. I am glad I most likely have all I need for the rest of my life. But that's where the .300...
I am more interested in the short action Mark 5 as I have always wanted one. I would love to see them with 24 inch barrels in a new Classic cartridge every year like 6mm Rem, .257 Roberts 6.5x55 , 7x57 Mauser, .260 Rem. 22-250 Rem, The Rifle they showed looked awesome !
Cooper Rifles I just wish I was not such a tight A** and bought a Jackson Squirrel Rifle in .22LR years ago as today they are crazy expensive. I have always admired Cooper Rifles as I like Blue Steel and Nice Wood in a rifle.
I have been polishing a couple hundred 6mm Rem. Cases and it got me to thinking the best thing I ever did was buy 500 pieces of brass for my 700 BDL 6mm REM.
I wish I had bought a couple hundred for my 300 H&H Mag as it is hard to come by these days and even though Nosler just released some...
Well I went with the Burris as I also know as in the past some shots come close Whitetail Hunting.
I will say the Weaver did serve my father ok on Deer & Antelope.
Now I will be loading up some 150gr loads with IMR 4064 and wait for the weather to warm up and we will see how it does.
Looking at two scopes a Weaver 4x or Burris 1 3/4 x5 power what would you put on a Remington 742 30-06.
The Weaver is the brightest and best image as the Burris has the widest field of view.
Both are 1980’ s Vintage Scopes.
I plan on this being a Black Beer and Timber Rifle where shots...
Bad Primer ! It is 6mm REM , REM primer R22 48.0gr Hornady 100gr BTSP
Which is very Accurate at 300 yards 3 three shot groups fired in a row letting it cool between groups is under 2.2 inches
I had a situation with 100gr BTSP from Hornady and by like you I said I was going to not use them on Deer any more. Well fast forward I had a Box left over that I had reloaded in my 6mm Rem and Iowa has an excess Doe only season so I thought what the Hell let’s see what happens. I was presented...
I think you will enjoy it as well. I was late to the whole Glock parade. I had and am a Colt .45 Fan and Ruger Fan. When I picked up the Glock 19, I have found it to be a easy pistol to shoot well and very reliable. Enjoy
I have wants but no needs, and after last week finishing up a excessive tag for antler less deer hunt. I began to wonder if I ever need more rifle than my first rifle I ever bought. My Remington 700 BDL 6mm Rem. I will most likely never hunt Grizzly and I can say today I have never shot...
I have said it before I truly feel my generation will likely be the last generation to enjoy hunting as it is getting to Stupid Pricing for Tags to Game Departments not Managing the resources correctly.
I do not see a future for hunting IMHO.
My advice you get what you pay for and for $500 I would look for a 870 Remington. If you are sold on O/U save your money then look at GunBroker.com and search Ducks Unlimited or Pheasant Forever and you will find New Old Stock Guns at a Great Price. People win guns and have nothing in them...
