Hello all, thank you much for all the great detail. I unfortunately got called out of town for work since posting this, then got called home quickly for my wife. Things have been hectic at home haha.
I spoke to him opening day of Gobbler and it sounds like they are leaning towards a 350...
Great bird! I have not been able to go out much at all and when i did, I was taking Maddog with me so she could try her first bird. Our opportunity to hunt and the weather have not aligned like one would hope.
This quote, at the end, is the hardest one for me to swallow.. especially when I look at the time, material, and anger I have put into trying to find accuracy nodes with my reloads over the years. It's hard for me to accept that maybe you can get accuracy out of any charge weight when for so...
After getting a Chrono, I don't think I can go back to my old way of reloading anymore lol. I just recently sold my Garmin C1 Xero to a buddy and sprung for the C2 Xero.. which now has me looking at Garmin watches that come with AB already loaded in them to match the Chrono.. I guess it's only...
Hello,
A good friend of mine is looking to get his 10 year old daughter her first rifle and take her hunting this year. He has asked me for some help on caliber, make, and reloads. I thought I would pick everyone's brain here.
My thoughts, knowing the first couple years of hunting she will...
I have a 300 bee to do some load development on at some point here in the near future for my FIL. Something to keep in mind when loading with Viht, the powders that start with a "1" are supposedly temp stable, where powders starting with a "5" are not. It's been my experience the 5's are...
We have called them across a creek a few times, but we have had them hang up on the other side of the creek a few times too! Getting a bird to take flight and come in to your call, in my opinion, has a lot to do with how late into the season it is and how their hen situation is.
Turkey in the spring is some of the best hunting you can do, hands down! The only thing I would say is don't do the owl hoot. It puts the birds on alert. If you can roost them the night before then go set up on them as undetected as possible.
We used Partitions for years on whitetail, phenomenal round for whitetail. We switched to Accubonds and am very happy with those as well. Texas, Oklahoma, PA, Florida, Wv whitetail.
Accubond is a little better at distance but the partition really holds up more is really the only trade off. I...
I heard something of that nature and was shocked. Would be like me helping people outlaw their Caterpillar Industrial engines. It is literally shutting down everything that I live off of haha.
I have a Tikka T3X in 7mag and love it! The cold hammer forge barrel is really hard to beat and what you get for what you pay is also very hard to beat. My Browning's are great, nothing wrong with them at all. The tikka comes out of the box as a better shooter if you ask me. Can't speak on...
I LOVE IT! Great work on your part. A bag like this comes in handy for me and my work. I often need an overnight or weekend bag. I pack one and throw it in the truck because some long day jobs turn into over night stays.
I mis upland hunting. When my GSP passed, I stopped going for the most part. I go with my cousin and his dogs from time to time, but nothing like before. We upland hunt in October out here.
The 99 is great, but they offered them in a take down. If the one you are looking at is a take down and was used much.. it will most likely have some play in it and that typically results in erratic shot placement. They are great guns, fun to hunt with, and unique. If you find a good one, just...
While I don't have issues and like my Leupolds.. I have really came to love my Swaro's and recently Schmit & Bender... I use to really be a die hard to NF and they are great scopes, but lately I have started drifting away from them for a couple reasons.
