It's true that 35 Rem factory loads took a hit as not being readily available but it has always been a seasonal thing just like certain caliber bullets. This past year I have seen on the shelves and online more shells available than before. The Hornady 200gr FTX turned the 35 Rem into a 200yd...
30-30 is good but the 35 Rem is better in my humble opinion:D That 360 Buck Hamer is like a 35 Rem with just a few feet difference in velocity. There are several Marlin Mod 336s out there for sale in the 35 Rem and they are a good rifle plus accurate also. Henry might be chambering it now...
Richard Mann posted a video on his Facebook page about this new load and showed shooting it over a Garmin Xero. Fellow range member has gotten over 3000fps with a Berger 140gr without any pressure issues.
Hunter does well in my 270win and not so well in 6.5x55 but that was a limited trial that can be explored more. We'll see how it does in this 243. Thanks for sharing your info.
I used the Nosler 100gr PT as my first choice before followed by the 95gr BT. Planning on staying with 100gr bullets as this rifle will be just going deer hunting and range trips. Got a couple of other brands of 100gr to try, practice with, save the Nosler PTs for hunting. Looking over different...
Is or has anyone loading Hunter powder in the 243 Win? I don't recall trying it before and when I got this last 243 back the book I kept load data and targets was lost. Have used H4350, IMR4350, IMR4831, WIN 760. So if you will, share your thoughts and results with Hunter. Thanks, Dan.
I gave two guns last fall to my son and grandson more for them to have than making room in the safe. Somehow that empty space has been filled with a Browning Citori 12 ga which I thought I'd never own another 12ga and the 243 Win I bought back which I thought I'd never own another 243. Never say...
Don't remember which brand it was but encountered some brass-colored steel cases 9mm. A magnet would pick it up reason I know. Wasn't aware that such cases were in production. Plain steel yes, brass colored no. Might be on the lookout for this.
I bought back the last 243 Winchester I had owned previously. It is a Husqvarna. I had bought it from my deceased friend Ron's wife couple years after his passing. Killed three deer, Grandsons Brandon and Landon got their first deer with it. Friend Scott he wanted it so I like a dummy sold it...
