7mm Rem Mag, 162 eldx started at 3k, 4 elk, 100-400 yards, one shot each. Unremarkable blood shot, farthest recovery was 90 feet. A bunch of bucks and another bull, 7mm-08, 150 eldx, 100-400 yards, one shot each. Unremarkable blood shot, farthest recovery was 60 feet. I’m a believer.

I use a magnum primer in my BG loads, seems to tighten my groups a bit. P

I have. Good accuracy but slow, much slower than Big Game.

When I started experimenting with the 150 eldx I bought a long action bolt stop for my -08 so I could load long. Using a .30-06 length magazine and the long bolt stop I developed a great load, and it cycles like butter. P

What’s an M plus magazine?

Reloader 26 if you can find it. 160 Accubond, 68.5 grains, work up to it. 162 eldx, 69 grains, work up to it. Close to 3k at the muzzle for each load. I’ve killed 2 elk with the 162 load. P

Have you tried a different magazine? I load for 4 Tikka 7mm-08s, no issues. P

Mine feed like starving baby birds. That’s a creepy analogy but apt. That’s across 12-14 rifles in my family. What cartridge are you having problems with? P

Excellent choice on the 7mm-08. I’ve killed bulls and bucks with mine. Tikka, though. P

Do this. 30 FPS per inch. Compare velocities (I pay zero attention to energy) at 25 yard increments out to how far you tell people you shoot. Stop calculating when the slower load hits 1800 FPS, and see how much farther the faster load travels before it too hits 1800 FPS. It won’t be much.

The T3x solves non-existent problems. The pad is softer, yes, but it still needs replacement by a Limbsaver. Ejection port is larger, apparently to facilitate easier single top loading. This detracts from the rigidity of the action imo, which could negatively affect accuracy. Metal bolt...
