I have always been a fan of the 308 win. was one of the reasons why I went with the 260 instead of the 6.5 creed I like the fact that the 308 is what the 260 made from .
I'm thinking about the 125 nos part. also want to try the 129 sst .I have never had a Tikka before but have always liked how smooth there actions where so thought i would try one never heard anyone have any thing bad to say about one .
Well I may have messed up but I went and ordered a rifle today .I looked and studied on the 6.5 creed looked at different rifles over and over again .Studied ballistics and finally decided the 6.5 creed wasn't for me.I ordered a 260 rem. in a Tikka hunter ,I hope it's a good one .
I'm going to buy a new rifle in either a 240 weatherguard or a 6.5 creed in a savage lwt hunter. Any help you could give me as to which would be the best cartridge and most versatile would be much appreciated . Will be hunting whitetail deer and wild hogs mainly with shots out to 500 yards .
Thanks for the info. fellers I'm thinking I might just have to get myself a early christmas present looking really close at the weatherby wilderness model vanguard .
The 40 BT. works damn good also ,honestly you can shoot anything you want that nosler makes out of your ar 15 depending on the twist of your barrel , and get good performance coyotes .
I have been shooting a Rem. model 700 BDL 243 win. since I was a 12 year old boy .Killed about every thing that swims, walks, or crawls with it here in these ozark hills of arkansas. Here lately I have been Pondering the idea of maybe trying one of the weatherby 240 mags...
Out of these 3 different bullets ,the Amax ,nosler bt. the hornady sst which one is most likely to give you drt results? The sst and the nos. bt being 150 grain and the Amax 155 out of a 308 .
Has anyone on here tried any of the hornady 125 sst bullets? Was just curious if they where as accurate as the nos.125 Bt., or if they was as tough as the 125 accubond ?
I have been looking for some of these for at least a year and on midways list if any comes in and 0% luck finding a box .I'm have come to the conclusion they are not making them. :x
Love my contender as everyone else has stated there scary accurate and very handy for lots of applications my barrels are 10 inch octagon 22 magnum ,222 rem.,and a 12 inch 7-30 waters barrel also octagon . (y)
