I did another thread a few months back. Grandpa's old rifle added to its legacy by killing the biggest buck of my life. She was made in late 1967 and still have plenty of life left in her.

now, the bubble level on the other hand took way longer than i would like to admit to dial in. there was some swearing and i think a small moment of wanting to rip it off and say to hell with it. but she's dialed in and ready for the range to get zeroed for the last...
This a longer post so please bare with me.
In February 2023 my grandfather passed away. Dad and I had been planning to take some time off work to hunt with him for the opening weekend of muzzleloader season in 2023 but that obviously never got to happen. Grandpa hunted with many different...

CCI 200
Peterson fired brass
.035 off JAM

Every year mom, dad, and I do a public land draw hunt in NC and I've been fortunate enough to kill some good deer in a small oak flat on the edge of...
I use the Unique also. I've stuck one case with it but it was 100% my fault. Dies were dirty, brass was dirty, and I am sure I over lubed it and got a 270 case stuck in a Redding die.
Clean dies and brass have lead to problem free loading.
That case is actually still stuck in that die...
I have a vx3hd I just had to send back today that was on my grandpa's Remington 700 30-06. Its giving me erratic groups and no consistency. With the same load it will shoot a 1-1.25" group and then changing nothing it'll shoot a 3" group or shift 2" up or down at random. I had some accuracy...
Yea she seems to be the one.
A lot of thanks to you sir. You've answered questions and helped steer things to help get it dialed in and i greatly appreciate it.
Been searching for the hunting load to use in the Seekins and finally settled on the 140 TGK.
59g of n565 and .035 off the lands has been the ticket. Looking forward to smacking a couple deer with it and being able to report back on game performance.
I have been playing with the 143...
Yea when Hogdon bought out Western Poweder prices went through the roof. I like to muzzleloader hunt but not at that price. For my 150yds max shot, IMR whitehot or 777 pellets work just fine with 250g Barnes Spitfires.
Got home from work and found a little package from Idaho waiting for me. Mag loads easy and cycles perfectly. Can't say enough good things about Seekins and how quick they responded or sent out the mag.
My 2 buddies have Seekins 6.5 PRC rifles and love em. I borrowed one to kill a small buck at 320yds last season so I know it'll be a filler freezer. Looking forward to loading for this rifle once I get a few more rounds down the barrel.
