Actually it’s 75% to 80% retention weight for the Nosler Part. Great bullet design it’s a legend in the hunting world. The Swift A Frame which is another A-frame designed bullet bonds their core for a 90% plus retention weight . Both excellent bullets that I use in .338 WM with the 225gr weight .

In Lapua don’t go over 2750 fps MAX with 285 ELDM and try to keep shot 300 yard plus and only lung shots suggested. I use the 285 ELDM for moose hunting .

In my BAR for 40 years I have used RCBS Small Base Sizer Die in 30-06 and 300 WM. IMR 4350 performed excellent ! Mostly used 180 gr Partitions for everything. In my 30-06 my favorite load was 56.0 of IMR 4350 preferred WW or Norma brass. Really like the Lee Factory Crimp Die for applying the crimp.

Bonded A frames worked great for Swift for many years and for me along with my partitions especially in .338 with 225gr.

Same as Marlin putting the cross safety on the 1895 and S&W putting the screw safety above the cylinder latch they all bent the knee ! I am sure there is an inventory of Gen 4 and 5 that will be hitting the market . For me Gen 4 is just fine and probably the last.

Sounds like you’re a deer hunter with fine rifles ! Always been a fan of the 308 Win in the older Win 88 and BLR . Both shot the Speer 165gr well with IMR 4064 @ 44.5. Excellent deer rifles !

Yes I have some Sierra 225gr good accurate bullet but I would like it to be Hot core like Speer it would be better.

Sure wish Speer would make a 225/250 Speer Hot Cor especially for the 338 Win and 338 Rum.
