    Nyala done right!

The curls on that kudu are shallow so he won’t score as high as some. Your ph will find you a better bull!

    Nyala done right!

There is a legend among the natives about the spots on the nyala. They say those spots were caused by the hands of God after he created them. He placed his hands on its face and said that it was blessed to be cunning, smart and beautiful, more than all the others. Then as it turned to run he...

    Africa 2026

I have taken my own guns each trip. I book My flights and gun permits through Gracy travel located in Texas and incorporate their employee that literally lives in the airport in Johannesburg. (Bruce) He does all the legwork so the permits are accurate and approved before you ever land in that...

    Bergers for Hunting or Not?

There is a cult like following among long range shooters. I don’t like them and you can add me to the “it failed to open club.”

    New Swift Z Bullet

Swift can’t keep up with demand for the bullets they already produce so this is a huge surprise to me. I don’t see replacing the ablr which is already tried and proven- The sloppy half ass produced video was unimpressive as well, seriously that’s your video you want to put on YouTube?!

    Rationalizing all my loads

I keep it all. You never know when something new will come along or an unexpected opportunity. I had a guy bring me a Ruger youth rifle last Fall. It hated everything I tried. Then I saw on line another guy or two had found what that rifle loved. I had some and was able to get that finicky...

    PA elk drawing

I’ve seen a couple of the tv famous draw extremely hard to get tags-but I think it’s because they are applying for everything that comes along. You should also realize that the best bull Units nationwide require over 20 points to draw. Utah and Wyoming where I apply are both in that category...

    Nosler 28 Reloading

I’m scratching my head as to why you would do load work up in the heat but expect accuracy in the cold. It seems to be a better plan to do load work in moderate spring and autumn temps on the shoulders of hunting season. ?

    2026 Wish List?

Working towards a new rifle in 30 Nosler. I’ve got the powders, brass, primers, bullets and dies-now I need the rifle! I have a 7stw I could convert I think, when I have the money saved I will get more serious about it. Hope it’s this year tho-

165 Accubonds or 180 Ballistic Tips

Oryx could also be New Mexico. In your shoes I would just stay with the 180 ttsx or Accubond in the 300. 180 accubond is my favorite load for that caliber. The .308 i would use the 165 accubond, I like the velocity better and prefer its performance over the BT. Just me tho-

    Ford Trucks.

I bought a new 250 when I graduated paramedic school 20 years ago. The computer system died while I was pulling my trailer to my elk hunting spot. Long story short it took over three months to fix it. I had multiple numbers for the western regional manager and her “boss.” It was the worst...

    28 Nosler

Really love my 28. I often use factory 175 ablr but I have worked up my own load which is a bit faster. Longest shots I have taken have been in the mid 400’s and the performance has been excellent. Probably my favorite rifle right now- I can shoot very accurately to 750 yards, I struggle...
