Same bullet I use in my rem 700 and it will be just fine for elk. I found rl-17 to Be the best for me and seating depth was very important. 7mm-08 150 grain on the left after taking down the kudu bull-

Most African game is better than we have on this half of the globe. It is typically lean and in general cooked over an actual fire, so the flavors aren’t polluted by gas or briquettes. I would take eland over anything else.

My brother has a nice newer ford 150. He slid on a mountain road into a large rock., not a lot but enough to be irritating. The aluminum body is much more expensive to repair-two quotes in the $8000 range. Something to think about -
