My QL does not have the Alliant 2000MR as a powder option. I have installed the latest update. Maybe it is there under a different name? I've been curious about the very same thing.

I'll get a pic of both together when the sight gets here later this week. I understand and fully agree that practice with the 10mm from all possible shooting positions thru out the the year will still be maintained. The 9mm is for the additional hundreds of rounds to be fired.

I have used the Talley 2 piece integral base ring set off/on for years. NO complaints here. If I don't have a Warne set on the rifle it's the Talley set.

I'll have to agree ! I'm so impressed with my G40/Venom that I purchased another in G34/Venom. I did put a 7" KKM barrel on the G40. Great move.

We have a few Vanguard 2 - I'm impressed with them. I did put mine in a B&C Stock and changed the trigger but it shoots great. No complaints.

I have a G40 MOS with a Venom sight and just love this gun. I am now considering a G34 Gen4 MOS and put the same Venom on it so I can shoot 9mm for less $$ and recoil and hunt with the 10mm. I know it may sound like an excuse but .......

90AB, 90/95BT or the PT will work on deer. All good deer hunting bullets. Like others have said, the 90AB to keep velocity up and still hold together on a short range shot. My load is the 95BT.

300WSM - RL26 and 180 AB/BT is my most accrate load. Good place to start.

Count me / us as a fan of the BT/AB bullets. 6mm - 90/95gn, 6.5mm - 140gn, 270 - 150gn, 30 - 180gn, 338F - 200gn. We have had much success with the BT. This is our goto bullet for most of our loads. As I look at this - we use heavy for cal BT bullets in all but one long range rifle of my son's.

Hey - Songdog, I agree 99% of your last post about the "right" bullet getting the job done. Most of the elk I've taken have been with a .277 140AB / 150PT. Very close to a 6.5 140xx, so we are on the same page. In Idaho I could be in the timber / brush after elk. I have not pulled the trigger...

What I was refering to by "Hype" is the Creed being compared to the 30 cals for Elk. Been hunting elk out west here since '82. We've taken one 6pt bull and a few cows with the 260. All less than 100yds. Worked great. I will take a cow when carrying a tag while deer hunting with what ever...
