Also adding a Pachmyer Decelerator recoil pad and Mag Na Porting the barrel should tone down the felt recoil to a more comfortable level for you.

Lever action rifles are a lot of fun. The 30-30 would definitely fit the bill for what you are wanting. The 35 Rem would be an excellent choice for deer and hogs. Don’t over look the 45-70. Its is a power house with upper end loads but there are lesser loads like the Remington 405 gr SP at 1200...
Those 220’s act like solids. You just need to drive them hard. FWIW, the Sierra 220 gr GK RN bullets shot really well at 2440 fps out of the Nosler M21 308 Win with a 1-10” twist.
The speed was faster than Remington’s published data for 30-06 220 gr SPCL load.

There’s only one way to scratch that itch.
The 140 gr class of bullets at 3000+ fps has some horse power. Recoil isn’t an issue, especially with the Accubrake. Sue’s Carbonmark weighs 8 lbs and felt like a 243.
