Of the .308 based cartridges I would have to say .243 and 7mm-08, and in that order. But the .308 itself is a fine old cartridge that is still plugging along.
The one’s I have the most experience with are the 7x57 and 8x57 and fine cartridges that they are I would have to say the 6.5x55 has won me over. Such a little sweetheart to shoot. While I don’t currently own one, I would love to remedy that.

Scope or the mounts would be my guess. Although usually (at least in my experience) a scope just throws random shots all over the place when it goes kaput. The consistent vertical stringing with several different load combos is definitely worrisome.

I have killed a lot of coyotes with every rifle and handgun that I own including both .22 pistols and rifles (.22 Long Rifle) and while it is certainly adequate, it is not ideal.
