They’re great in my opinion for prone shooting and similar. Your hand rests naturally but for all around I like a bit more angle myself. It’s a preference which works for who, but in the woods and on the hill I prefer a standard’ish profile.

That would hunt. It’s pretty easy most days to get 3 close, but when you start getting into 5+ you really see a picture of what the rifle and load are doing! Nice shooting!

You shouldn’t have much issue working up to H4831SC in a 25-06. It’s one of the good ones. If you have some I’d give it a shot and see where you end up.

Same here. Upgrade the bottom plastic to some metal and maybe a stock if you see fit later on and you have a solid rifle. Hard to beat a Tikka if you like them.

It is what I have done in the past Jim. I typically use a mandrel like you mentioned these days.

I have my Grandpa’s M99 300 Savage. Believe it’s a 40’s vintage. Maybe early 50’s. Before I got it, a numbskull cousin tapped it but otherwise it’s a slick rifle. I should break it out and let it breathe. Great carrying rifle.

I’d bet H1000 will sing with that combo. I’ve been working with my 7 WSM and 180’s the past few days and H1000 seems to be good for 2900-2950 with them. I’d think with the 168’s you’ll be up over 3000 pretty safely with your bigger case. I just remembered I have a box of 168 ABLRs I may need...

The 7-6.5PRCW is the darling of F-Class fellas I hear. Makes sense as it is really a shorter action'ed 280/280 AI class cartridge.

Takes but one shot over the chrono to tell you where you are at.

Start the ABLR .050” off the lands to start. I then do my powder work. If after that, accuracy isn’t exactly what I want, I keep moving back in .025” increments. Tune as necessary. I’m sure there are other ways but that has worked well for me.

That’s quite a spread. I’d not tolerate it myself. Mixing them with 28 Nosler loads could be disastrous in my opinion. Cull out the ones you have the least of and start there would be my opinion and what I’ve done a few times. It’s ashame to toss them but I like my nose, eyes, fingers, etc.
