How Much Jump Do 142 LR AB’s Like?

Right after I posted that I thought I’ve got the wrong guy….., It’s not like I’m dumb! I used to have a Remington XP100R in 260 Remington with the Kevlar stock when it first came out…. But now it’s remembering which forum member is who? You’d think with a username like xphunter I’d know better?

    Well I did it...

You can make a pig fly, and that’s what I expected to see happen once you sat down to testing your new Tikka 6.5x55…. You’re just getting going, I’m sure you’ll have that beat sooner or later!

    Shot the Tikka Swede

Wait, no recoil…. You’re using a lead sled! Minus the lead shot or weight, but it’s got to recoil going that fast in that light weight gun without the lead sled 🛷.

Centerfire rifles to hunt the world

.223 easy to shoot and find anywhere into anything. 6.5 CM/6.5x55 same as above. 30-06 It’ll take care of everything if you use the right bullet in the correct POI. .375 H&H What’s not to like about it, unless you’re a.404 Jeffery kind of guy. 458 Lott Not much to not like other than the...

So Glad That I Tried Different Rifle Cartridges & Loads!

I think you put the nail to the wood with your observations Guy! And yet I can get bored with not having something new to make shoot like Scotty said. But you’re more right than wrong, isn’t usually nailing wood down a lot like hunting…. Use whatever you have to get the job done!?! Sure...

How Much Jump Do 142 LR AB’s Like?

I’ve tried them close to the lands and have gone as far as .150” off , and yet never could get them to shoot even with various powders. Hopefully they will work for you. I’ll assume you are testing these in your two Swede’s?

    Buy, Sell or Hold?

Well I had to box up the Ruger and send it back to them so they could fix a few issues. I couldn’t understand why it would put two shots touching at 100 yards and then the next day and/or after letting it cool completely down throw a shot? So I looked up the torque specs and took the floor...

    Brux Barrels

That’s incredible that they got it made so fast! I’ve used two, and still using one of them. They definitely make great barrels that shoot extremely well! A .375 caliber bullet going 3K should make hearing impacts easy, even from a mile away!

You’re not kidding that is some nice wood! It looks like it has some fiddleback in it?

    6.5x55SE 140 gr Accubonds - H4831SC - Fed 210 - Lapua

Unfortunately I seriously doubt that anyone will ever see Norma Powders Stateside. Alliant has recently begun shipping Reloader powders, which was a long time coming. That said, even though they are considered the same, but slightly better QC product than what Alliant is selling, it’s not...

    6.5x55SE 140 gr Accubonds - H4831SC - Fed 210 - Lapua

I noticed that Scheels had RL 23 in Billings yesterday. I’d almost think RL 16 would be too fast, but I could be wrong. I have some but I didn’t think about trying it.

    6.5x55 QL Request

My rifle with the current lot I’m using of Norma URP was as fallows: 41.5 grains produced 2473 fps. 43.5 grains 2544 fps. That data is only from a single shot, and not an average unfortunately. The chronograph is not conducive to testing for accuracy, and why it’s half worthless. Just...

    6.5x55 QL Request

I spent yesterday and the day before testing this load, and adjusting the seating depth. It seemed to shoot best right where I left off plus or minus .0010”. ~ .0075” off the lands. This is not a rifle that can handle a three shot groups, it heats up too much! A waste of time and effort...

    6.5x55 QL Request

Not too shabby for only a ten round work up. I could tell it wanted to shoot when I got to 41.5. I had to attach the Mag-dumb-Not-So-Neat once at that charge weight to see what was happening speed wise. I would normally never advise anybody to jump two grains unless you’re absolutely certain...

    6.5x55 QL Request

@Dr. Mike Your QL is very close to the actual velocity that I’m seeing with URP, and the 127 LRX! It’s one line above (slower velocity) then what it predicted. Which is way different from Barnes manual with MRP. URP is roughly 4.0 grains lower vs MRP. Had I translated that to URP, that would...

    6.5x55 QL Request

Hopefully one of these will come together and be consistent enough that I’d hunt with it. I only have on hand one other bullet that’s easy to make shoot, the Green Boxed 140 GK. Partitions tend to be fairly easy to get to shoot, and a better bullet then anything else to boot too! It’s those...
