Ok so there is mention of the new .338 265gr ABLR in the press release for the 33 nosler but I can't find anything on the actual new bullet. I'm very curious about it as it would be an awesome bullet in my 338 Lapua if the BC is close to where I'm estimating it. Any one have the scoop on this...

The nose of the ABLR is very soft which is what allows it to expand down to 1300fps. I had this problem as well with the 129gr in my 260. I use Wilson neck dies and had to back off the neck tension to seat them without leaving a doughnut in the bullet nose. Polishing the seater may help I'd try...

Thanks Nathan. I'll get one ordered up for him. Twist on the barrel is 1:8 and the 195 Berger is first on the list of bullets to try. The gunsmith is going to throat it to accommodate the 180-195 range bullets to be seated out long enough to take advantage of the full case capacity.
