Only thing iv heard people complain about with automatics are making so much noise when loading a round in the chamber . Supposedly the new mk4 is lot more smoother and quieter .
I thought about them for 2 reasons. 1 there bonded and would push through bone on a high shoulder shot to drop them right there .
2 the tips wouldnt get damaged if that even matters at such short distance we shoot ..
Only thing about bonded bullets that I kinda remember is thay dont open to...
Ah yeah didnt think about looking at it through mag well.. apparently there is also this indicator on the mk4 that shows bolt fully closed . Pretty cool
Should be here soon , Shipping was delayed for some reason. Im Pretty excited , ill be ordering some 150 partitions tomorrow. Hopefully i can get a load nailed down soon and not eat up to many bullets , those aint cheap lol..
Hopefully it will like varget , winchester brass and winchester LR...
This is the first time I will be loading for any semi-automatic so a little nervous doing so good to hear about the Nosler partition for it I really like it it seems like it would expand fast up front then the back end hold together to push through if it hit bone. We typically try to make shots...
I do have the gauge . But like u said the mag length will probably be where I end up for reliability.
I was going to get the small base die but you almost convinced me its not worth it as you loaded for 2 different guns without it . Ill be using winchester brass like I do for all my hunting...
The new mk4 is not the same twist rate .. the 308 is 1in12 the 3006 is 1in10 , I wish thay where both 1in10.
I have a few different bullets id like to load for it . One nosler ballistic tip and other nosler partition. Hope it domt deform the tip on partition to much
As far as sizing , was...
The farthest shot we make here is about 165 yards . Its on 1 of the 2 plots I hunt , Its a long narrow cut with a feeder at the end . The other one is about 120 yards max .
What load data you using ? I cant find any for a automatic 308 . Only one iv seen was for service rifle and it was not...
Pulling the trigger tomorrow on this browning bar mk4 308 iv been wanting . I was going to get it few months ago but ended up in the hospital for a bit .. so , its a 22in 1in12 twist . Thats the only thing I dont like about it . Iv heard these autoloaders with the 12 twist like the 165gr but...
I would love to have one but cost of fuel alone is eating into my gun buying budget lol last month I spent over $600 in fuel just for work not counting personal use
Thay wont . But I will when I gotta drag it out the swamp 200 yards in 😆. I want something that'll push through the top on shoulder at base of neck . The off switch partition seems like a two-in-one expansion fast and solid to push through
It sounds like with the partition rather I make a soft tissue shot or above the shoulder base of the neck shot it's going to perform and blow a hole no matter what
I made a neck shot on a 150 lb buck last year at about 90 yards it only went halfway through his neck and stopped I didn't recover it but it seemed that you have dumped all of its energy within the first few inches of impact
I plan on running the at the velocity that gives the best accuracy which in a 308 is mostly around 26 to 2700 ft a second in my guns anyway. Not too concerned about the price as I won't be shooting them a whole lot throughout the year. Just few times year to make sure gun is still zero . .
I do...
