Excellent post, you have convinced me. I usually use 150 hornady's or remington core-lokt but this year i'll switch to the 180 grain Hornay round nose, seem like perfect thumpers.
The supply chain up here in Canada is even worse, its so hard to find Nosler products. You would think Nosler would say "ok, demand for our products is way up, lets increase production by a factor of X ... " this observation from a business perspective seems logical, increase production!
I am working up a load around the 140 grain ballistic tips, currently im using H1000 and hit 62.0 grains at about 1" groups, which is OK but it isnt what i expect from this rifle, the quest continues...
Below is a 5 shot group with one called flier opening the group to 1.755", very windy...
I have run out of my fav powder W760 and i have H1000, has anyone used H1000 with the 270 winchester and what were your results? I will be using 140 Nosler Ballistic Tips.
Thanks
Thats too bad there isnt a 150grain accubond, so i am going to be using the 140 accubond with a longer seating depth. I chose the 140 as i will be using this a a deer / elk load for the 2006 season, will update when i have an accurate load developed.
Thanks
Would the accubond bullets allow for more powder room or would their longer length impede on powder capacity for the 270 winchester as opposed to the partition?
Well christmas shopping has officially flattened my wallet and i need a case tumbler and was wondering if anyone had any ideas we could build using regular household items? any far-fetched ideas are more than welcome. lol
I see both of you chose 4831-type powders, im not worried about max velocity so long as it groups great i will be satisfied. So would there be any powder room difference with the CT Failsafe bullets?
Thanks
I plan on reloading a 22-250 this year and was wondering about reloading dies, should i purchase the full length resizing dies or neck sizing dies? what are the advatages/disadvantages?
I would like some help in developing an accurate load for the 140 accubonds in a 270 winchester, what is the maximum / minimum for Reloader 22 powder or what do you recommend for powder? (sorry but i dont want to "reduce loads by 10% that isnt accurate enough for me)
I shot the 5-15x40mm matte for about 4 years now and i am going to be buying a new 3-9x40mm matte simply for the fact that they are affordable and very dependable, i have never seen the reason to switch to leupold, burris or others but thats my own personal opinion, it works for me!
