Good news on my wife. Orthopedic looked at images and said no broken bones and not a dislocated wrist. Very upset arthritis and the tendon to the thumb from the fall. That’s all good news !
We have two adult children in their 30's. My son took me home and my daughter grabbed her mother to sort that out.
All issues resolved - my wife goes back tomorrow to set the bones and also get the bones put back into the proper place.
Had tough time getting control of pain where blood pressure would come down. As my wife went to get the truck she fell and broke 2
bones in her wrist that will get set tomorrow. The disclocated Ulna is up at her thumb right now, so that also will get resolved tomorrow too. What a day ......
Here we go again... 2006 Lumbar Fusion cages rods and screws S1-L4. 2018 same on L4\L3.
This time "just" Discectomy on L3\L2. Outpatient surgery. In and out same day tomorrow. A fusion of that level is coming but the goal is pushing it out as much as possible. This is my future...
I replaced a Savage 93R17 BTVSS that I sold many years ago. I felt I needed a 17HMR again. This one is the blonde laminated stock. I'll have a scope mounted Friday and probably get a couple boxes of ammo thru it before I call it done for the day.
Easy way to get more trigger time right...
Nice sunny day, so I took out 22LR, 22WMR and a 17WSM in the backyard. Moved a shooting bench to 50 yds. Wife came out with her 17HMR. We proceeded to enjoy the next hour. The WMR is the new Henry and I think it's a 50 yd 1" gun with the ammo I have.
I did run across a Sav 93R17 BTVSS. I...
In our family we have been taking deer with a 6.5 bullet for almost 56 years now.
All 140gn - Core-lokt, NBT, NPT, NAB. On deer any decent bullet will work. Now of the two you have I really like that Gold Dot in its various forms. I've just not used it in a 6.5 but have no reason to believe...
I went up to Cabela's in Post Falls to transfer that Henry single in 45-70. Picked up some powder and a box of 350gn FP Hornady.
I also grabbed some 22WMR ammo since I purchased the display model Henry steel lever. Got 10% off. Cleaned up both guns. Shot about 20 rounds out of the 22...
The intent of my use is for play and elk and maybe bear over bait. Just a firm hunting load would be all I need.
Not trying to knock down a T-Rex. Ha
Thanks again for all the responses.
What a bummer, received email that the order is cancelled. In processing, inventory went to zero. Oh well....
I was considering the single shot 45-70 before and almost purchased it instead, so I checked and it was still there. I kicked it around for a few minutes and ordered the Henry Single...
I step on the 60 year line soon. Very fortunate that I'm healthy ... just broken. Going on my 3rd back surgery this spring. I'll be back up and running in no time again.
Seems like just the other day I was walking in the Northern Minnesota woods chasing snowshoe hares and grouse at 10 years...
Running Quickload for a 45-70 .. at what pressure would I set it for in a modern lever gun. SAMMI is what 28K? To get published velocities I bring it up to 55K and 60K.
Is this right?
