Thanks guys for the input. We will be making a trip to the local gun store next week to size her up to one. After that, I guess it's going to be trial and error with the bullets. I'm still kind of leaning toward the 140 grain PT, AB etc.
Hey All. I took a bit of a hiatus but am back on the board. But it's good to get back on here and start shooting (the breeze and bullets) again.
I am in the market for a 7mm-08 for my wife, most likely a youth model.
I have been looking at the Savage Axis models for cost purposes, but...
Easy explanation. Wife says you need to sell your guns because of {insert reason}, you put it up for sale/auction at a high price. It doesn't sell. You tell the wife, "Well I tried but no one is biting".
That bites. Our freezer bit the bullet a few years back and thank goodness we caught it within a couple of days. The meats were still frozen, the berries etc not so much. But no meat loss.
No. But I have gotten into podcasts lately. They are way more interesting than the radio. I will turn them on when I reload or tie flies. Either that or I turn on my portable DVD player with fly tying/fishing/hunting DVD's.
I drew an LEH tag here in BC for a cow elk in 2009. I was super pumped because it was my first "bigger than deer" hunt. The father in law and I had been going out to this one area where we knew they were, we just could never connect with the herd.
This one morning, we were late getting to the...

Don't know how to measure how deep it is, I usually keep it pretty flush. I just go by visual and by feel.
The only down side to RL powders is they are extremely scarce around these parts. That said, I don't even know where to begin getting Ramshot powders here. Hodgdon and IMR powders are usually the best best in these parts.
Thanks for the input guys. I was actually very impressed with the pad on the Remington, very soft almost better than the one on my Savage which is nice too.
So we went to our local gun shop yesterday. I want my wife to get her own rifle instead of her busting mine up (wood stock etc), plus she was in a car accident a couple of years ago and still has some pretty sore soft tissue injuries, so the less recoil would be good for her.
I was thinking the...
I've not as much experience as some of you fine folks, but this bruin was taken in in S.E. BC. I just realized how young I look in this photo, but it's been nearly 5 years so that's fine.
The father in law and I were specifically targeting bears. It was my first season with my 300 WM and my...
