    Did you ever screw up?

Tack....at least you noticed the missing primers when you did. A few years ago I discovered I forgot to prime 4 or 5 rounds that had been loaded. The kicker was I figured it out while scoping out a deer opening weekend. One of those rounds was loaded in the rifle. Sent from my SM-G965U1 using...

    Hunting Knife - Recommendations

Thanks to everyone for all of the info. After doing some research on what was recommended here, I've narrowed it down to a Benchmade Saddle Mountain. I wanted something I could pass down to my boy when he's ready...which isn't too far down the road. Again...thanks for the help. Sent from...

    Hunting Knife - Recommendations

I've been using a Buck Omni folder for gutting deer the last 3 or 4 years, but I'm not overly impressed with it...doesn't seem to hold it's edge very well. I'm looking for some recommendations on a different knife. I'd like to keep it under $100. I don't have a preference as far folder or...

    2016 Hunting Pictures

Dropped this 5x6 whitetail at 0830 on the opening morning of Nebraska's rifle season...452 yards. I think I rushed it so the first shot hit the back end. I walked to down to the creek bottom to get an eyeball on him and finished him off with one in the shoulder at about 100 yds. He had almost no...

    Reloading for 264 Win Mag

I agree. He's not all that worried about getting top end velocity, but my previous experience with anything Barnes is you gotta push em hard so this might be an interesting ordeal. Does the belt on the case present any different challenges from a non-belted case?

    Reloading for 264 Win Mag

Need a little advice... A buddy of mine wants me to help him work up some loads for his 264 WM. He's dead-set on using 100 gr. TTSX's. After digging through some data on-line, I'm thinking about trying some H-4831sc to start since I have a fairly good stock and it's easy to find around here...

SWFA tactical scopes. Any experience with these?

I've had a 3-15x42 on my 280 for a few years now and love it. Good glass, solid tracking, and the thing is built like a tank. They're an even better buy if you can find one off of SWFA's sample list.

    IMR 4451

I've been using it in my 280 Rem (139 gr. Interlocks) for about a year with really good results. It's giving me really consistent accuracy with higher than expected velocity out of a 23'' barrel...seems to live up to the advertised temp stability too. Been meaning to try it in my 25-06 but...

    Prone technique - an article

Interesting article. Thanks for posting. Might give this a try. Due to terrain, I use my Harris all through deer season. Sent from my HTC6535LVW using Tapatalk

    Big 'Ol Sow

Unfortunately I didn't get around to making any sausage out of her. I gave the hams to the guy that didn't get one and 1 loin went to my brother. My family of 5 ate the rest of her up that week. Sent from my HTC6535LVW using Tapatalk

    Big 'Ol Sow

I had no intentions of getting that close to one them things. The one in pic was sitting right below the road. It was a snap & skate situation. Sent from my HTC6535LVW using Tapatalk

    Big 'Ol Sow

Made our annual trek SE of Dallas to wack some oinkers. I dropped a 210 lb sow the last evening out after missing 2 earlier that weekend (operator error). Hit her on the left side of the forehead with a head on shot with my 280 pushing a 139 Interlock @ 3020 fps. The skinner found the the...

    Hangfire w/ Handloads

I had issues with hang fires in my 25-06 when using CCI 200-LR primers. Switching to Federal GM-210 primers solved the problem. In my case...I think it was a firing pin / primer deal. Your's might be a low powder charge / primer deal. I would try a different primer and see what happens.

    6.5-06 AI?

Just as I thought what would happen...work prevented me from getting to the gunsmith today (it's about 75 miles away) so I'm on hold for a bit. For whatever reason, gunsmith's are few and far between around here. It seems like the real good ones are a ways away. I'm in no rush to get this...

    6.5-06 AI?

Talked to gunsmith this afternoon and if something doesn't blow up at work tomorrow morning...I'm dropping off the rifle tomorrow afternoon. I'm going to let them order the barrel I just have to decide between a Douglas, Shilen, or X-Caliber (don't know too much about the X-Calibers). Right...
