Ever run into a set without one?
I just did, they were an old orange box set of Lyman dies off eBay. Sent them back & have my preferred brand a clean set of Durachrome Carbides on the way
Yup, was embarrassed to admit it but that's exactly what happened to me, except for the stovepipe, mine ejected clear.
"The 45 went off and stovepiped and the bullet lodged in the barrel just enough to keep the next round from chambering all the way and saved my bacon. I would have pulled the...
It's a classic for sure. This is my 1st full size 45. And I'm loving it
Had a Star PD back in the day because I wanted but couldn't afford a Detonics. Then had a Para Ordinance commander sized P-13
Thanks Guy.
I'm happy as well on the fail to eject, for sure makes you check things out.
I've never had one of these squibs before as I usually run fairly hot reloaded ammo in revolvers and factory ammo in automatics. My 1st forey into reloading 45 ACP
But l definitely understand what that...
Was shooting yesterday about 1/2 thru my 50 rounds. Got the soft POP and about zero recoil.
Case ejected, I think, can't quite remember the sequence. But on later inspection the empty case had some unburnt powder grains & a bullet stuck in the bore just forward of the chamber. Load was following...
Rainy day here, good for reloading in the warm & dry man cave. Found a bag of mixed head stamp 45 brass half a box of Sierra 185 JHC. Went to work with my eBay low buget Lyman dies, Remington 2.5 primers and some AA #5
Starting load said 9.5 grains for 1040 fps out of a 5"
Will test soon

Agreed
Going to load a few up today starting at 78.0 grain and working up
Ran all my Peterson brass thru the neck only die, then cleaned up the case mouths on the Forster. Seated Federal 215s yesterday. Ready to load.
Just received 100 pc of this in 28 Nosler. Now do I start from scratch or take a proven load & begin there?
I'd imagine the .5 MOA load I'm currently using that's 1.5 grain below the Nosler reloading books maximum load using Nosler brass would be safe in this, but unsure. If I drop 2.5 grains...
I purchased my rifle used, he had put about 60 rounds down the barrel. That empty Nosler brass came with the rifle.
I knew this 1x Nosler wasn't a long term solution but thought why not experiment with it?
Turns out there are more variables in it than just being soft.
