7mm 160 Accubonds, anybody willing to sell a few?

Guys, it looks like FOTIS has me set up. Thank you all very much for the offers, its very generous of you all to try and help out a guy in a pinch, especially one you dont even know. It really shows the true colors of this group, and Im proud to be able to be a part of it. Again, thanks to...

7mm 160 Accubonds, anybody willing to sell a few?

Hey all, Ive got elk season starting October 1st here in Wyoming and have checked everywhere within 100 miles along with Cabelas, Gander Mountain, Midway, and everyone else I could think of, there are no 7mm 160 Accubonds to be found... Even the Nosler site is out of stock. I burnt up most...

    E-TIP and Barnes... Similar performance?

The votes of confidence so far are great, thanks. Looking at posted velocities people have put up, it seems like velocities tend to be a bit lower with the E-tips than comparable leaded bullets, is it because of the long bearing surface being more tempermental with pressure and spiking faster...

    E-TIP and Barnes... Similar performance?

Having used X bullets in the past with great results, Im wondering how the E-tips stack up against them? I like the price of E-tip seconds for working up loads with, but havent been able to find much "past experience" information on them related to actual on game performance... I enjoyed 6mm's...

    Favorite 7mm bullet?

Guy, I have the same rifle in the same chambering. Wouldnt know what to do without it. Mine loves 160 grain Accubonds with 65 grains RL22 and Federal Mag primers seated ten-thousandths off the lands for an average velocity of 3170 fps. The speed and trajectory are hard to complain about, but...

    140 Accubonds & the .270...

My .270 is a ruger No. 1 and has a 21 inch barrel. Most loads tend to shoot on the fast side out of it compared to other .270's Ive played with, so Im wondering what velocities you guys have gotten, if youve chrono'd them. Im especially curious about the H4831 loads and their velocities... Hey...

    140 Accubonds & the .270...

Hey all, just got a rifle back from the smith that has been gone for quite a while and happens to be my favorite, so I think I need to play with it a bit. Historically, 130 and 150 Partitions have both shot wicked accurate with both 4831's, but Im feeling like playing with the 140 Accubond as a...

IMR 4831: temperature and velocity loss

R Flowers, now thats the kind of info I was looking for. Many thanks! I was thinking of doing something similar (freezing the ammo), but was unsure what kind of effects you would get shooting 25 degree ammo out of a gun thats been sitting in 85 to 90 degree heat. Ill give it a try for myself...

IMR 4831: temperature and velocity loss

To all, obviously you've all displayed some concern for using the Ballistic Tips. I appreciate that, and I believe its decent advice for passing along to someone whose experience with elk is limited. However, I am not new to elk hunting. Theres a few pickup loads of bulls that will attest to...

IMR 4831: temperature and velocity loss

Hey all; with an upcoming late season elk hunt with my father in Wyoming, Im trying to figure out what kind of velocity changes I may get with IMR 4831 going from summertime 85 degree shooting to hunting in colder temperatures (unlikely to drop below 20 degrees or so, unlikely higher than 50...
