Reshot to confirm zero, 5 shot went ES 12 and SD 6 which is still great for a hunting gun IMO.
I’m more fond of this chambering the more I mess with it. Mild recoil, good velocity, great BC & SD, what’s not to love?
We have 4 of the LRP scopes in 6.5-20 that have tracked well from 100 to 1100 for lots of shooting.
I do have one rifle with an LRP in 3.5-15 that is grouping fantastic but come ups are way off from dope and I wonder if it’s not a scope issue.
]Is the advertised BC pretty close on these or no?
6.5 PRC dope is being problematic.
Last 5 shot group only recorded 4 shots on the LabRadar but with ES of 4 and SD of 2 which makes me pretty confident in velocity.
Shot at 375 today as that’s as long as I can get at home and it shot 1/2...
This has my interest but I don’t understand how it corrects for ES between identical loads.
I load 3 shot groups in .5 increments to start, sometimes these groups have single digits ES and sometimes there will be extreme ES spreads of 20-30 fps.
Seems that extreme spread between identical...
That’s exactly what the partition is supposed to do, you never have to worry about not getting expansion with the front section and you will always get deep penetration from the back part.
I am intrigued with the info that QL provides but I can never make heads or tails out of the QL’s info people post.
This is a screen shot of a recent post for a combo I am in interested in.
Can someone break down what it’s saying for H4831 SC? It’s just a bunch of numbers with no heading or...
My oldest son and I have been shooting deer and hogs with the 150 LRAB’s out of 280AI for 3 years. My youngest son has been using 120 BT in 7-08 for the same time.
We are all switching back to Std Accubond this year due to lack of pass through and no blood trail.
Different reamers. Freebore is similar but I will have to refer to my notes to provide exact distance to lands for each.
Rifle #1 - Nosler brass used in a Schneider Barrel that shoots with 0.040 jump to lands.
Rifle #2 - Lapua brass shoots in a Bartlien that likes 0.120 jump to lands.
I have always known that not all rifle share the same max load which is why we work up. I have recently come upon an extreme example which made me curious. Both are custom rifles in 280AI shooting 150g LRAB's with same powder and primer.
Rifle 1 - Brass is Nosler factory brass.
Max load is...
I have them shooting great in 2 different 280AI's. the secret seems to be seating depth, some rifles like them seated deep and other rifles like them seated really deep!
I started both Guns at 0.010 off the lands, one rifle grouped at 0.040 off and this one didn't group until 0.120 off but man...
