I don't recall the order of the shots. I'm noticing the repeat comment to velocity. Should I buy a chrono and base my load development off the avg velocities?
I'm really only looking for a MOA load. This is after all only going to be a hunting load out to 500 at the farthest. I know the...
Distance is 100 yards. I was shooting prone off a bipod with a rear bag. All the shots felt good except one I pulled on 56.2. Didn't count that one for that group.
Unfortunately I don't have a chronograph so no velocity numbers.

I shot an OCW test and am having troubles determining the sweet spot here. I used OnTarget software to find the POI for each load. I have an idea of which load to try next but want to get some folks' opinions first. Below are the specs of this gun/load
Gun: Tikka 30-06
Bullet: 180 AB

I’m contemplating buying a box of ABLRs to try in my ‘06. I have H4350 on hand that I’d like to try first.
Anyone have any experience shooting this bullet in their ‘06?

Loaded up some ABs today with a shorter overall length. The pic in my first post was at 2.61" CBTO. I loaded 4 each of 2.60", 2.59", and 2.58" and shot at 100 yards.
2.60" shot a little over and inch. 2.59 shot under an inch. 2.58 opened back up at 1.3ish inches. I loaded 8 rounds of 2.59 to...
Thanks for the input gents. Seems like the consensus is to shoot 4-5 shot groups for better verification and to see deeper. Problem is.. I'm already seating the bullet .13 off the lands. Do ABs typically need this much jump?

The first group I wasn't keeping track of the order. The 1st shot for the 2nd group was the flyer.
Dwh, if I seat the bullet deeper should I decrease powder charge as well?

I shot a ladder Test and found 57 grains of h4350 with a 180 AB to be in a node. I shot two separate three shot groups at ~100 yards. They both produced near identical patterns. Two touching and one flyer about an inch away. All the shots felt good, no pulled shots. I'm puzzled as to why this...
Did some research on 4451 and it looks like a good alternative to H4350. Mosley has it listed for 70gr 243 bullets but not 30-06. Anyone using this powder with 175/180gr bullets in 3006?

I can't find any h4350 for my 243 and 30-06. Anyone else been able to find it? I'm worried it may be a while before it comes in stock again.
Anyone have any alternative powders they like in the 4350 range? I was thinking RL17 but worried about temp sensitivity.. Thoughts?

I haven't tested this but am curious if anyone else has. Can the optimal seating depth change if you change powders? I have some leftover RL22 and was considering using it to do a seating depth test after doing some load development with H4350.

Finally got a chance to shoot a seating depth test at load 17 (46.8gr). The results were disappointing to say the least. Shots were made at 100yards and no wind off a bipod and rear bag. I felt pretty steady on all the shots. Waited several minutes between shots, it was 25 outside that day so...
No offense taken Jim. Thanks for everyone's input. I'm still pretty green at load development so I'm learning here. I decided to load up cases at #17(46.8gr) powder charge and do a seating depth test. If it doesn't shoot well I'll try a seating depth test at #7(43.8gr). Planning to shoot it...
Did a ladder Test with 70gr varmageddon and H4350 today. Started at book min of 42gr and went up .3 increments to 47gr. Didn't see any pressure signs with my last shot but not comfortable going more than a grain higher than book max. Test was done at 350 yards and had a 5-7mph wind from my...
Could someone run a quickload for me? Working on a load for a 243 I just bought.
70gr nosler varmageddon .334 BC
H4350
COL 2.680"
22in barrel
Nor sure what my actual case capacity is. Nosler book says 50.8gr
Also, would be interested in anyone's experience with this bullet.
Thanks in...
