I need to slow down...just like my rifles, I tend to get into a spending frenzy buying tackle. Once I reach a certain limit, the wife starts asking questions. I have to remind myself to take baby steps so I dont trip the radar. So far I bought two of the newest Lew's Tourny pro reels, and three...
Thanks for your input. I really like the feel and weight of the ridge line. Wasn't a lot about it I didn't like. I'm going to kick it around in my head a little longer and play the wait and see game. My nephew has the Mesa in a 6.5 PRC which he loves. I may shoot his and see how I like it. Its...
yeah I know all the rifle manufacturers above have a following. Some of them I like, some I don't. nothing against them other than me having my own personal preference.
I made a decision on Christensen Arms, so I was looking for people who have experience with them to give me their opinion...
I've been checking out the Christensen Arms Ridge Lines. I'm thinking of another 280 Ack Imp for a hunting rifle. does anyone have experience with this rifle, and if so, how do you like them?
I have handled a few of them. The Mesa and the Ridge line. The Ridge line is more of what I am looking...
Getting older sucks no doubt. I was going to reload ammo this weekend for an upcoming shoot, but I now have the flu so that's off the table for now at least.
R26 in my 280 Ack Imp is excellent. I stayed at 60.5gns at 3013 fps because accuracy is outstanding. I've been as high as 63 grns for 3100ish cant quiet remember, but accuracy although it was good wasn't as good as 60.5.
It's not as plentiful here as I wish it was, but I do have 4 pounds of it...
Choosing a caliber when doing a custom build has always been my problem, and one I spend the most amount of time considering. the last complete custom build I did, I finally settled on the 280 Ack Imp, and I'm glad I did. It is easily one of the most accurate rifles I own.
Whichever you choose...
Thanks, I see light at the end of the tunnel for me. That's a good thing. Lately I've been getting that itch to squeeze the trigger on some of my favorite rifles. I have a 6mmBR I like to shoot for fun from the bench as well as a 22-250 that wont beat me up to bad. We'll see how that goes, and...
It has been a good while since I've last posted here. Couple of years actually. I screwed my back up, so for the past four years I've been dealing with it. Last August things sort of came to a head with it, and it put me out of work for 6 months. Dr. wanted to do surgery but his prognosis was...
just trying something out. This trip was a bust. managed to take a Doe, but that was it. after a week of hunting hard, nothing seemed to be moving. Saw a couple young bucks, and a gob of Does. Figured I would give the bucks time to grow, and take a doe instead.
I get to hunt this farm once a...
I picked up another box of Nosler 280 AI brass from my local gun shop this weekend. I decided to check the case neck thickness with a sinclair case neck thickness gage. I had three boxes to get through, so I turned on ESPN to watch some college football, and get to sorting.
What I found was...
Local gun shop called and said they were able to find me 2 boxes of the 150gn ABLR, and a box of 280 AI Nosler brass.
Im good on both, but considering how scarce they are to find now day's, I told him to go ahead and get them. Also picking up another 4 pounds of RL26 since it will be from the...
