My primary hunting load when using a 308 is 47gns Varget & 150gn Nosler Accubonds. I know I can get more velocity using either CFE223 or Alliant PowerPro 2000-MR but Varget (2208) is more readily available in my area.
In my 1969 Rem 700BDL with 24"bbl, 225gn Sierra & 59.0gns IMR4320 produced 2705fps. 200gn HP & 56.0gns RL10X produced 2851fps.After trying many powders those are my best combinations for those bullet weights.

Great informative video. Although in saying that, a Ranger Point Precision loading gate spring is what the test rifle needs. My Marlin 1895 45/70 had a loading gate like a rat trap once ....all good now though.
While on the subject of the 45/70, here's a pic I took a few weeks back...
I recently purchased a new Marlin 1895 in 45-70 and have just started load development. I'm currently using Speer 300gn jacketed HP's #2482 and 51gn of H4198 for a 3 shot average of 2085fps. I'm wondering if someone could run the 300gn Speer HP 45-70 combination through Quickload. I just...
I don't have QUICKLOAD and don't need to work out which powders perform well in a certain cartridge. If you're using 139gn bullets in a 7mm/08, Reloder 17 is damn hard to beat.
I had a 257AI about 10 years ago. Of all the appropriate powders tested, and I tested most, H4350 and RL22 were the powders which performed best with bullets from 85gns -120gns.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. I think CFE223 and Alliant PowerPro 2000-MR is the same powder, just like W760/H414 & Winchester WXR/Reloder 22
I like 47gns of RL17 and a 140gn Nosler Accubond for a 5 shot average of 2865fps out of my Rem 700's 23" bbl. It shoots accurately and kills with authority.
My Rem700BDL.375RUM has a 25"bbl. I use 270gn Barnes TSX.
Here's some chronographed loads - 5 shot average.
93gns H4350.......2880fps
100gns RL 19.......2904fps
90gns RL17........2895fps
100gns RL26.......2795fps
Is the action bedded and barrel free floated? If not, get it done. In my experience, range testing loads in hot weather always produce bad results, especially with factory sporter weight barrels. Try firing consecutive shots from a cold bore. When it's hot ( above 90F ) that often means...
When I looked at the Quickload data supplied by Tackdriver284 I thought my 375 Rem Ultra Mag would perform very well using RL26, especially as it appeared to be the top performer in terms of velocity. I knocked up a few loads using 270gn Barnes TSX and 100gns of Reloder 26 and tested them on...
I've never asked for a QL advice before but I'm desperately wanting data for @ 270gn Barnes TSX and Reloder 26. After plenty of searching, it appears data on this combination is non-existant.
Any help would be much appreciated.
I've never tried H335 in the 7mm/08, although I did try it in my 308 with 150gn bullets. Like others have said, muzzle flash is impressive.
By the way, I also have a 7mm/08 and of all the powders I have tried with 140gn bullets RL17 gave the best velocity.
