Looking back at the target. 9/10 and 13/14 are close in velocity and close on the target. With a change in load for every shot I wouldn’t expect to have the whole group tight or an I wrong?

My previous post re the QL prediction will be useful should you want to use a different powder or want to get the next node without getting into dangerous loads. And we can fairly accurately predict the node with three measured velocities. Since you have already “got to a node” with testing you...
I tried the 10 load development from the 6.5 guys and had some challenges. It eventually took about 20 rounds to get to a velocity to test. After going on a Quick Load course I have found that I can get to a node with just three rounds, using Quick Load. What you need to get to is optimal barrel...
Remember water weighs a lot more than powder thanks to its density. What QL does is converts this to a volume. If you put a drop of dish washing liquid into the water it will have less of a bulge when it’s full.
You should measure the exact length of the barrel from the bolt face (closed) to...
Tough life fishing, hunting, comps etc etc.
That block looks great with the press on it. I have a few questions:
1. Have you tried it?
2. Do you have to “tie it down?”
3. What scale are you taking to the range?

At 400-800 yards you want to have a very small ES on the velocity. That is where I would start then adjust the OAL for accuracy. There is a video that the 6.5 guys did in 10 shot load development go have a look.
This been said my closest range is an hour away so I try to take as few trips as I...
I would just use the 43.8 and change the COAL that is more likely to tighten up the group, that is according to a great video by the 6.5 guys on a 10 round load development. They met with Scott Satterlee and this is what he does. Find the lowest ES and then adjust COAL. Have a look...
Have a look this was two weeks ago - perfect load perfect shot placement at about 150yrds - just 2 Hours North of Jhb
That sounded like I was bragging - I was grateful that everything came together so well
Glad to help. Not likely to be making that trek, but one can never tell. I've had a few friends here in the Great White North from JoBurg.

Thanks mate - this I have looked at. When I said limited data, there are things like the .270 on the Vita site only has data for a 140gn bullet I bought the 130gn. The burger and Barnes Websites have data for other powders but not the N160/165.
While I'm not a total novice I am still cautious...
Thank you so very much for this. I really appreciate the effort that I know went into helping a stranger
Wish you lived closer I 'd Buy you a beer - I am in Johannesburg South Africa so if you happen to be coming this way to hunt..... call me
If your scared of blowing yourself up maybe you should just use the data provided by Burger and Barnes in their manuals or on their web sites.
I would but there is limited data on the Vitahvouri powder.
DrMike perhaps you can help out here. I have quickload but to be honest I am way too scared of blowing myself up to really use it.
I am using the following:
Barnes TSX 85gn with Vithvouri N160 in a .243
Berger VLD hunting 85gn N160 in a .243
Barnes TSX 130gn with Vithvouri N165 in a .270...
