    Head spacing issue?

    As much as I love an excuse to buy more tools 'n toys, I'll take it to a 'smith and see what can be done with it. It's not a bad shooter but I just wanna be sure before my kid shoots it.

    Head spacing issue?

    I normally neck size but FL for hunting loads and whenever camming the bolt becomes noticeably harder. There is still thinning of the brass above the web so maybe I should at least get the head space gages since it seems that any 'smith work is gonna be $$$ enough to just throw another barrel on.

    Head spacing issue?

    I have a post-64 Win. M70 in 300 Win Mag that I'm not the original owner of. The throat was long enough to seat 200gr SBT to 'mag' length (3.57" OAL) so I removed the 1/4" spacer in the magazine and shortened the bolt stop and the rounds would cycle thru the magazine just fine. What I've noticed...

    Rebarrel Advice

    I had loaded a ballistic calculator on my Palm phone and the recommended twist for the Nosler 140gr HPBT is 1:7.95 so I would imagine the the VLD's & 160gr might need it & more...

    Rebarrel Advice

    I recently had a Shilen barrel in 260 Rem installed on my Rem Model 600 (was a .308). Standard Match #3 contour with the 1:8 4-groove rachet rifling. Now that the barrel is 'broke in' there is hardly any copper fouling after a 10-rd+ string. The clover-leafs with Nosler 140 HPBT, H4831SC are...

    Fire-forming 243 Win -> 260 Rem ?'s

    Thank you, all. I'm gonna double (triple) check all my settings, refine my technique and see if I can at least repeat what I've already done before changing any parameters.

    Fire-forming 243 Win -> 260 Rem ?'s

    My dummy round measures about .292 near the mouth & .293 near the shoulder. The fired brass are typically .295 max so I guess there's enough tolerance at this point. Even with full-length sizing and about .010 bullet jump it was not easy camming the action closed. Maybe that's just the action &...

    Fire-forming 243 Win -> 260 Rem ?'s

    Hi - newbie question since I've never done this before: New barrel with 'match' 260 Rem chamber & can't find 260 Rem brass so I buy a 49-piece (shoulda been 50) bag of 243 Win. Winchester brass to fire-form using 140gr Nosler HPBT's, 41.5 gr AA-3100 & WLR primer. All brass was FL-sized & trimmed...
