    At 5'8" I am short, I do not enjoy my 629 with 8 3/8". Its an old one, 629-1. The only NOS barrels I am finding are 6". I will keep looking but I might settle for that.

    Wao thank you! I have read a few times how hot VV N570 burns and how bad it can be for chambers, but it appears the n540, n540, N550 and N560 are even hotter.

    So I have an old 629 8 3/8" barrel. Boiught it used, had a Nikon pistol scope on it, I took it off and put the rear sught back on. I am not a fan of the 8 3/8" barrel on the .44 Mag. (I love it on the .357 nag) I am debating going to shorter barrel. Trying to find NOS, and I am not sure...

    Yea, I only shoot steel with hand guns, don't measure groups. I just love those N-frame revolvers.

    That might a explain a little, but the fact that one company controls the supper majority of powders in the US I believe has to do a lot with tripling the price in 4 years. We all know who that company is. You'd have to convinve me otherwise. Similar situation with primers, but in this case...

    My suggestion when it comes to scopes and binos, make sure you look through them at dusk and at distance. Not everybody's eyes are the same. Just make sure the glass matches your eyes. (from Personal experience).
