How to stop cold bore shift?

For 10 years in the 1980’s through early 1990s I loaded 79 grn 1MR 4350 and 180 grn BT for my German 300 WBY. I was getting 1/2” 5 round group at 100 with an old 1959 WBY scope. IMR was DuPont then. Now that load is considered why above max and unsafe. I was told powder has not changed, but...

How to stop cold bore shift?

I am so happy you said that. My first 10 years of hunting, I used IMR 4350 and 180 BT in 300 WBY.at max load, no longer considered safe by data publishers. Weather in Texas can be from 40 to 90 when hunting. No problem. For my South Africa trip, loaded my WBY with 200 PT and RL 22 and my son’s...

    Ogive length impact

There is CBTO and COAL. When there is inconsistency in the bullets, it can affect how deep the bulled is set in case, changing pressures. I can also affect jump. I can go into More details when I am back at home in a couple of days

How to stop cold bore shift?

I would stick with that for now and hunt. I would check it in the summer. I use RL 22 with AB in my 300WBY with great success. I do not think it’s as temperature sensitive as people say.

    It has arrived!!

I only have M70 CRF made in New Haven or WBY MKV rifles for hunting. I my last three MKV I have used Leupold QRW, I want to ability to take them off for travel. I also used those on my M70 375H&H so I can use iron sights in brush country

    Accuracy Diff with primers.

It'll be interesting to see what you find. I have only tried on primer (9 1/2 M) in that caliber, for both 260 and 300 grns bullets. Never gone to the hunt I was planning, so I stopped developing.

Henry 243 long ranger load data needed

True. Rifles have to be very simillar, and will still need to develope of the rifle. I only have two Brands/Models of bolt action. Win M70 Classic Stainless and WBY MKV. I have occasionally used loads from my friends with same brand/model/caliber for starting loads, but not before checking...

Henry 243 long ranger load data needed

JD338, my personal experience, if the rifles are same maker and model, it would be pretty close. I have 3 WBY MKV 300, one Japenese Deluxe and 2 US Accumark. All three shoot 200 AB or 200 PT to 300 yards, same load, very close. I could fine tune more, but no need for their intended purpose.

    300 Win Mag / H1000 / 200 Accubonds test

I load that in my 300WBY, two rifles, 200 AB or 200 PT, RL 22, same load. Took them to Africa, had great success. I need to try in in my M70 300WM and 300WBY

One of my all time favorite pistols on DA/SA. I'll have to give that load a try when I get back to loading for pistols again.

    Magnum Rifle Primers

Oops, they had primiers, Federal and CCI, but I did not check what they were exactly. Anywhere between $9/100 and and $12/100 with 200 primer limit. My other LGS sent emails they have primers, but I never stopped in to check prices.
