With the 160-150 gr Nosler Partition bullets, most game from mule deer to elk and moose , even bear
can be taken. H-4831 is similar in rate to H-450, and can be very effective in the 270 WCF. I have found
that for 1950s pre-64 Model 70s, H-4350, IMR-4350 , H-4831 SC and H-450 even H-870 works...
I have used the heavier 220 gr Nosler and 225 gr Barnes with H-450 and H-870 with some success, as the extra slow powders do

IMR 4350 produced excellent accuracy, and seems to do its best work at...

reloaded for them about 30 years. Brass like starline in 40-65 WCF helps as you may resize with
a 33 WCF resizing die. Also helpful is the Lee factory crimp die.
200 gr Hawk-or Hornady...
Last chambering in the Winchester 1886 ending in about 1936. The 33 WCF was also available in the 1885 Winchester Single Shot and the Marlin 1895.
An excellent cartridge, but ammunition started drying up in the 1950s after W-W
discontinued production.
Now, reloading for the 33 WCF is about the...
Karl at Alaska Bullet Works had a major health issue and

The Swifts, Hawk, and Woodleigh are still available.
I used 270 gr Hawks with a 348 Ackley Imp Model 71 on moose with
excellent results. Still have a few boxes...
