looking for a used savage short action rifle barrel. chambering is not overly important as long as it is larger than 243/6mm, up to possibly a 308. would consider a 35 remington possibly. blued or stainless, doesn't matter. damaged crowns ok, it will be cut back for on a savage striker.

thanks for the info guys. i do have some h4350, so i might try that. i am supprised that with all the poeple on this board that only two others load for a 7x57!
just got a sporterized fn venezuelan mauser in 7x57 for an absolute steal. i already have 140 gr sierra pro hunters for my 7mm-08, and h4831sc, h4350, varget, and reloader 22 powders. primer would be a winchester large rifle as i have about 7500 of them. does anyone here have experience with...
i had worked up a very fine load with varget and a 270 grain bullet. however, all my notes were lost when my 2 year old got his hands on my loadbook. i think the load was 45 or 46 grains, or possibly 49. has anyone here used varget in the 9.3x57? could anyone here run this on their computer...
any suggestions? thoughts? comments? unless is get some other suggestions, i will try loading up with varget using data extrapolated from a combination of 8x57, 9.3x62, 358, 35 whelen, etc.
i just picked up a 9.3x57 husky mauser. i have on order a set of hornady dies. now i need load data. i have been told to use medium burn rate powder for this such as 3031 or 4895. varget is my favorite rifle powder and i would like to use it if possible. anyone here have any suggestions?
in my ar, 24.5 gr varget with 69 smk was gold. in a custom 700, 24.5 gr varget with 60 gr vmax gives under .250 @100. i just got a box of bt's to try. i expect .250 or better from these.
in my custom mauser, varget was the best powder. (varget is my powder of choice for most cartridges) if i remember correctly, 55-56 grains behind a 225 bt or now the new ab.
new to the forum. have been loading my own for years now. i am in the process of building a custom mauser in 25-06 and am looking for suggestions for bullets. this will be a deer rifle, 100-120 grain bullets with h4831sc. barrel is 1 in 10 twist. the bullets i have been considering are hornady...
i have recently acquired a comercial mauser chambered in 375-284 with dies and everything. the only thing i dont have is load data. i checked with the powder and bullet manufacturers, and not much luck there. has anyone here had any experiences with this? how bout 375-06 (aka 375 whelen)...
