Using loading manuals when they don't have you exact powder and bullet combination

Hello everyone, I have ramshot hunter powder and I'm looking to load 30-06 with 165gr Hornady SST's. My question is.the western load data has 2 165gr bullets for a 30-06 with Hunter powder but not the one I'm using. Can I use this data on the SST or will that cause problems?

Powder for 150gr Accubond LR 270

Well I fired 11 rounds and didn't blow myself, or my rifle up, so I've got that going for me. My velocities were pretty consistent with what they were supposed to be except for a few. So now that I've finished that I'm wondering what is next? Do I now play around with jump and check my groups to...

Powder for 150gr Accubond LR 270

Thanks DrMike! We have definitely been blessed. The smaller one is actually a boy so we have a boy and a girl, but our daughter has been bugging us for a sister and hopefully we'll be adding to the family soon. Good to hear your daughters are still daddy's girls! I'm hoping mine will be as long...

Powder for 150gr Accubond LR 270

Hello DrMike, I've now got my cleaned, sized, and primed cases ready for powder. I noticed the chart you gave was for a 22" barrell. I have a 24" barrell and wasn't sure if that made a difference or not. Also my plan is to load 10 cases starting with -10% and working up to 00% then shooting them...

Powder for 150gr Accubond LR 270

Thanks for the info! I have a Christensen Arms Ridgeline which has 24in and 1-10 so those 170gr wouldn't work for me.

Powder for 150gr Accubond LR 270

Yeah, I was able to do that with factory ammo luckily. I will look into shootingbot! Could you explain what "Jump them" means? Thanks!

Powder for 150gr Accubond LR 270

I seem to have gotten into this at a bad time. There aren't many of the components available to buy. I had to scour the earth to find primers. I have some e-tips ordered now as well. So i will focus on those first, since from the replies it sounds like those may be easier to get right. Hopefully...

Powder for 150gr Accubond LR 270

Thanks for the reply! Well that's a bummer! I bought them because it's the bullet used in the only factory ammo I could find enough boxes of to take with my on a hunting trip to WY last fall. I liked how they preformed on a mule deer at 312 yards. Any specific bullet i should consider? I usually...

Powder for 150gr Accubond LR 270

Thanks so much for the info! What books you would recommend? I've had my eye on that magneto speed sporter, but wasn't sure what i needed so spending that money without knowing if it was what i needed seemed silly. Thanks again for your time!

Powder for 150gr Accubond LR 270

Thank you very much! Really good stuff. I'll definitely take a look at that video later. I'm definitely on the conservative side with all this so even compressed loads have me nervous at this point! I'll definitely be staying within the recomended powder levels. Thanks again!

Powder for 150gr Accubond LR 270

Thank you very much for this information! So if i were looking for say 2850 fps I would use 4-5 grains less than the 52.87 grains of the IMR 4831 it will take to reach that velocity. If that is correct what is a good process for working up the grains? Do you make a handful of rounds and check...

Powder for 150gr Accubond LR 270

Hello Everyone. I'm very new to reloading. So new I actually haven't loaded a single round yet so this may be a dumb question. I finally got my hands on some primers and bought 150gr ABLR for 270 win. I have 2 powders IMR 4831 and Ramshot hunter. I have 2 loading manuals but can't find the 150...
