FWIW: Hodgdon lists 45000 CUP with a 129gr Hornady SP at their recommended "Max" load of 48.5gr H4831....they used a 24" barrel with Winchester primers and brass.

6.5 PRC has a bit more muzzle velocity than the 6.5-06 but it burns more powder to achieve that advantage. Unless you are going to plan on reloading the 6.5-06, I would avoid it. Ammoseek shows no ammunition for that cartridge.
