I will be flying into Dillingham a day early. I spoke with the guide and he said my best bet for weather would be the August hunt. Unit 17 is also a 2 bear unit so hopefully I can bring out 2 in 1 trip a long with a blackie.
I really hope for the money that you have to pay now for a brown bear hunt you could walk away with a trophy. It would definitely be hard to convince the wife to let me go back a second time to try and fill another tag. The pain would be dang near unbearable coming back empty handed.
I appreciate it. I asked him for 4 or 5 of the people that used him that didn’t fill their tags. He sent them over to me immediately. I will do some calling tomorrow and try to get the low down.
I’m planning a brown bear hunt in August of 2027 and I have spoken with Alaska Big Game Hunting about being my outfitter. I wanted to reach out and see if anyone has any experience with this outfitter. I appreciate any information.
I have an extra Bergara 7 PRC that I’m wanting to convert to a 375 Ruger. Everything I’ve read says it’s nothing more than a barrel swap. Was wondering if anyone has done it and if there’s any unforeseen issues that have come up. I appreciate any info.
Everyone I hunt with tells me the same thing about using a 35 whelen on my aoudad hunt when I have perfectly good 7 prc. It has a 24” 1 in 14” twist barrel and I plan on using the 225g AccuBond or 250g partition (whichever the gun likes better). I’ve also ordered the 200g TTSX’s to try out...
I appreciate the welcome. I’d never heard of them either until I came across them on the Preferred website. Did some research and they seem like a really good action. I’ll stick it in a Grayboe phoenix 2 and mount a Z6 on it and should be good to go for my aoudad hunt the end of February
