    High primers

    I appreciate all the responses and suggestions. What I think I will do is just set them aside for now. I have other brands that seat ok. I will check other cases when I reload and hope I can find some that have a bit deeper pocket. Thanks again.

    I used both the hand seater and tried again on the press. I put so much pressure on them I was afraid I would set off the primers but didn't. They then were almost flush but not completely.

    What kind do you have? I have other primers that work but didn't want to waste a full btick of primers. I do have a primer pocket uniformer but it doesn't cut the pocket deep enough and a lot of hand work besides. I was using the ammo in a 1948 Remington model 721 that needs some stock work so...

    I purchased some new Remington large rifle primers and loaded them in Remington 270 Winchester cases. Every primers was noticeably proud of case even when fully seated. I checked the primers pockets on the 270 cases as well as some 45-70 cases. The primers pockets were all around. 128". The...
