    Preferred handgun hunting bullet?

I buy them. Used to by Montana Bullet Works but they had some tragedy and now I’ve been getting them from Mikes bullets out of Missouri I believe or maybe Arkansas. Haven’t shot any yet but on good reports they’re great.

    Reloading Help 25-06

I was going to type out a response but Jorey’s was spot on. I’m another user of slow powders in the 25-06, H1000, 7828, rl25 and 26, Retumbo. I wouldn’t sweat the numbers either myself. Look for good consistent accurate loads and the numbers will fall in place. Also, with H1000 I seem to have...

    Forester Co Ax press

I have had my COAX since about 2006 or so. Somewhere in there, and like if a lot Don. It’s really nice not having to mess with shellholders and it is also nice not spinning dies in and out. Once my dies are set, they slide in and out at exactly the same spot as the time before. I don’t know...

Going to run the big 8 again.

They sure do. I’ve been shooting some 223 grain ones they made. Very accurate bullets.

Going to run the big 8 again.

I have always wanted one of them myself and I remember through the years you have had a few of them. Pretty big medicine for stuff at sane ranges. The Hammers shoot real well and like you said, they’re fast as heck. Looking forward to seeing how you make out.

    Rifle scopes

The Athlon 2-12 Helos is a very good scope for the money. I have one on my Kimbers and my smokeless ML. The dot in the center is enclosed with a circle that allows non illuminated use up close and when illumination is turned in the optic works well as a red dot optic. Glass is very usable and...

    QL request 7-08

Just so many great combos in the 7-08. One of the easiest cartridges out there in my opinion.

35 Whelen or 9.3x62 and why?

Anybody that says a 243, 7-08, 308, 30-06, etc pounds deer like a Whelen or similar hasn’t shot enough. While they aren’t needed to take deer, the Whelen and similar seems to wallop them mighty hard.

35 Whelen or 9.3x62 and why?

I’m glad it stayed in the “family”.

35 Whelen or 9.3x62 and why?

And a I have to admit to a 9.3x62 as well that does shoot pretty well.

35 Whelen or 9.3x62 and why?

I’ve heard of that rifle…. Has some good mojo. ;)

35 Whelen or 9.3x62 and why?

The 7600 I got from you years ago now still hunts and makes meat fairly often when I just have to get on a buck. I have a smaller 7600 carbine for long walk days but the Whelen is just a great cartridge. This poor buck was an 8pt before the Whelen got him :ROFLMAO: He just decided...

    Preferred handgun hunting bullet?

Very cool stuff. I use mostly cast in my stuff as well with no downsides I know of.

    25 Pronghorn

Maybe it’s worth it to put a known good scope on it, just to check.

    25 Pronghorn

Scope is my first inclination. Mounts next, and then stock screws. It’s mechanical. Unless the barrel is bent it’d be hard to believe it’s the load if it shot decent in the past. I’d be hard pressed to think the propellant is bad.

    30 Nosler Surprise

Absolute great bullet. We’ve taken a few elk with other calibers and weights but I’d not hesitate a second taking about anything with that load.

    Sauer 202 6.5x55

I think you did well. I’d say that was a solid score. Love the Swede. Talk about a round that’s eager to please.
