Do someone have a load for this combo? (I also have some Ramshot TAC, Varget, VV N540, but I do prefer to use RL15)
I would also like to know your seating depth/COAL too.
Thanks in advance.
The rifle is a Rem700 SS 5R, 24" barrel. Twist rate: 1:11.25
PS. POP: can you please use your SW to...
Thanks for the quick and detailed reply.
I don't think they are rifling marks... they are more like scratch marks from the feeding ramp :-( I just wonder if they are normal for ARs (I never shot heavy bullets, or bullets that is seated to max OAL)
1) I am trying to establish my seating depth of my 223Rem 77gr Nosler CC HPBT. The current OAL for me is somewhere between 2.258 - 2.260. When I tried to chamber them by releasing from an open bolt and extract them for inspection, I find that there are scratches and markings on the bullet...
I don't think you can seat 80gr bullets to max OAL which will fit AR magazines.... and I don't think the original poster intended to shoot his M4/AR in the single round fashion.... so, 77gr seated to 2.260 or 2.255 would be the heaviest you can/should go... it does perform VERY WELL.... you can...
Many of them.... it is NOT easy to "rework" all the ones that is like that....
Since, if I poke it... most of the time, it fell back inside... I have to shake it again for it to show up in the tip again....
I wouldn't worry about it if it is JUST this one. :-(
I've noticed some "foreign stuff" inside the hollowpoint of some Nosler Custom Comp 223 Rem HPBT bullets that I just bought thru Nosler's website.
Here is a picture:

What is it? Will it affect the performance of the bullet? (Maybe it is...
