Looks like its a takedown, those are notorious for being less accurate than solid frame models. Although for less than 100 yards with open sights it should still be well within minute of pop can.
I would offer him $500. See what he says.
This is me. I should leave my wallet at home when I go to the gunshow this year. Hoping to do a couple of out of state hunts! Was thinking of picking up another 20 gauge. Either an O/U or semi-auto.
But I need to finish my .300 Savage project, and continue thinning my herd a bit yet.
The bulk of my handgun hunting is on varmints like mice, ground squirrels and rock chucks. Have taken a few raccoons, badgers and coyotes too. Of course rattlesnakes too.
I have two “go-to” loads for the .22-250.
A- 55 grain NBT/39 grs of H380
B- 55 grain SGK/35 grs of Varget
If magazine OAL or twist constraints wont allow one to use “A” I simply switch to “B.”

A Remington 700 ADL long-action walnut stock for my .25-06! Used is okay but not abused. Prefer the stock to be uncut with plastic buttplate still intact.
I have a Bell and Carlson Long Action 700 BDL stock that is Grey with Black speckling I could trade straight across or willing to...
I wish Marlin would reintroduce the .25-35 in their 336; lever guns are in and its a great cartridge!
Would like to see a regular non big loop Marlin 1895 without a threaded or ported barrel, 22-24” long, blued and walnut in both .444 and .45-70!
I also wish Winchester would release a...
I never knew Browning made the BAR in the .25 Niedner!!
My B-I-L is absolutely nuts for anything Browning, but especially the BAR. I think he has three of them, all are 7mm Rem Mag!
How do you define “big game?” How about small game or varmints?
For me, it had traditionally started with pronghorn antelope, anything “smaller” was considered small game or varmints. Size can’t be the deciding factor though, our coyotes are much bigger than the African dik dik for example...
Heck yes! A daughter to be very proud of!
It baffles my mind that anyone should go hungry in this day and age. And I agree with Buffett as pertains to Congress. They couldn’t run a lemonade stand it seems.
